The self-automated backwash process requires no moving parts or electronics. Under development for several years, the patented PolyGeyser® technology is capable of handling ammonia loads 50% – 100% higher than standard bead filters at a fraction of the water loss and head loss. The innovative backwash process prevents caking and clogging – keeping your day-to-day operations moving along smoothly. The backwash is gentle, keeping the biofilm intact while allowing the system to operate for long periods of time with no maintenance.

The AST Endurance™ Filter is an advancement of our patented PolyGeyser® technology with the addition of many new enhancements and increased performance features.

The robust High Profile PolyGeyser can handle high water pressure with finesse. The new High Profile PolyGeyser® Filter (HPPG) is perfect for high volume applications from large aquatic life support systems to wastewater treatment and clarification. Capable of handling large volumes of water under pressure, these PolyGeyser filters gently backwash the media, multiple times a day, to maintain a healthy biofilm. The enhanced nitrification capacity makes this unit ideal for applications with high biofiltration needs.

AST teamed up with Emperor Aquatics to develop a complete line of custom UV sterilizers. Our sterilizers provide a minimum of 30,000 micro watts/cm2 of UV intensity at 60% end-of-lamp life at flow rates matching all of our Bubble Bead® Filters. These special UV units are designed to be mounted vertically. The included mounting kit makes it easy to attach directly to the bead filters. Pairing an AST filter with a UV sterilizer will achieve optimal filtration and keep your water source clear. Our experts can help you determine the filtration needs for your setup.

Tanks Perfect for Aquaculture & Aquaponics Applications. Fiberglass tanks: Fiberglass tanks are strong, substantial, and will hold up for an extended amount of time. All of our fiberglass tanks are gelcoated – add a skid system to instantly turn the tank into a holding system or growout system!

AST offers programmed controllers designed for use with our filters. These controllers will automate the backwash cycle by: Turning off the pump. Initiating the backwash & waiting for solids to settle. Draining the sludge from the filter. You can set the backwash frequency with a selector. Several configurations are available including a bypass (useful for the continuous operation of a waterfall) or control of an additional sludge pump. PW3 models feature an external alarm relay and pressure activated safety switch (not available with all models).
