C.L.A.M. - Environmental DNA Extraction Device

he C.L.A.M. device also employs special e-DNA disks to filter water through a variety of filtration and sequestering media either singly or staged together to provide a total and dissolved e-DNA residue.

Aqualytical - Model CLAM 5000 - Complete Water Extraction Kit

The CLAM or (Continuous Low-Level Aquatic Monitoring) mimics a real clam or indicator organism. It actively filters the water at a low flow rate capturing total and dissolved organics within its solid phase extraction media.

Aqualytical - Model CLAM 4000 - Excluding Totalizer

Above is a photo of the Continuous Low-level Aquatic Monitoring device called the CLAM. The CLAM comes in a field ready case with accessories shown in the photos above. The CLAM should be treated as an instrument and not subjected to severe jolts or rough handling. The following steps will be a simple guide to turn on, deploy, estimate or measure the volume of water extracted and retrieve the CLAM and transport the SPE disks to the Laboratory.

Aqualytical - CLAM Manual Collection Kit

This Kit comes with any selection of 1 CLAM Disk, tubing and fittings with a 100 ml syringe. This kit makes it easy to extract smaller water volumes such as 1 liter samples with just the small CLAM Disk being sent back to the lab.

Aqualytical - CLAM Disk & Faucet Kit

This Kit comes with any selection of a CLAM Disk, tubing and a drinking water faucet fitting and hose adapter. This kit makes it easy to extract pressurized water systems through CLAM Disks from a standard faucet or standard hose outlet connections. This Kit can be used with the optional External Volume Totalizer, or the extracted volume can be determined empirically by collecting and measure the discharge water collected in a container. When used on a sink faucet, the aerator screen is first removed from the faucet and the diverter valve is connected in its place. The water is diverted through the 1/8 tubing by closing the diverter valve.
