Aquatic Research Tools: Temperature and Depth Sensors for Depth Profiling

AQUAlogger - Miniature Ocean Temperature & Pressure Logger and Environmental Monitoring

The AQUAlogger® 520 is a miniature instrument, capable of monitoring accurate temperature and pressure measurements at depths of up to 1000m. The device is a flexible alternative to thermistor chains, given its self-contained design. The AQUAlogger® 520 is an appropriate instrument for both ocean and environmental applications.

AQUAlogger - Wireless Standalone Temperature and Depth Logger

The AQUAlogger® 530WTD is a wireless standalone temperature and depth logger with a robust and innovative design. The instrument offers automatic data transfer, so your data is transmitted wirelessly to a designated PC or laptop, once the equipment has surfaced. Users can benefit from the quick and simple setup and deployment of the instrument that will save you time in the field.

High-precision Turbidity Meter for Water Quality Monitoring

AQUAlogger 310TY - Wide range turbidity and Suspended Sediment Logger

The AQUAlogger® 310TY is a compact instrument that measures turbidity to over 10,000 FTU. It has optional integral temperature and pressure sensors. The logger also features a tool to convert turbidity to suspended sediment concentration using in situ samples. It can be used in freshwater and ocean environments, with shallow and deep water models.

Suspended Sediment Profilers

AQUAscat 1000R - Suspended Sediment Profiler - to 1,000 m

As the flagship model in the AQUAscat® 1000 Range, the 1000R Research model sets the standard in acoustic measurement. It features up to four transducers, each capable of operating at distinct frequencies. This instrument excels in detecting sound scattered by sediment or other suspended materials, with an adjustable resolution range from 2.5 mm to 4 cm. This makes it ideal for a variety of applications, from short-range altimetry spanning a few tens of centimetres to monitoring sediment suspension profiles over 1-2 metres, and even extending to dredge plume estimation up to 10 metres. Housed in a robust subsea casing, it’s ideally suited for long-term, unattended deployments. Customisable battery options are available to suit diverse deployment schedules.

AQUAscat - Acoustic Suspended Sediment Profiler Survey

The AQUAscat® 1000S represents a new generation of high frequency acoustic instrumentation. It has applications in sediment transport studies, including measurement of suspended sediment profiles, precision altimetry, dredge plumes and turbulence. The AQUAscat transmits pulses of high frequency sound on up to four transducers, each of which may operate at a different frequency. It measures the sound scattered by sediment or other suspended materials at discrete spatial intervals programmable from 2½ millimetres to 4 centimetres. For altimetry, this may span a few tens of centimetres; for monitoring sediment suspension profiles, a total range of around 1- 2 metres is typical; while dredge plume estimation may extend to 10 metres. The instrument is supplied in a subsea housing suitable for long-term unattended deployments. Batteries for various deployment schedules are available to order. Suspended sediment in the field - to 1000m. Ideal for sediment research and surveys.

Real-time Hydrotest Pipeline Integrity Monitoring System

HYDROlog - High Accuracy Hydrotest Logger

The HYDROlog 3000PT instrument forms the core of the new HYDRO 3000 range of hydrotest monitoring instrumentation. It is a compact logger measuring test pressure to 1400bar and ambient temperature to depths of up to 4000m. The integral pressure sensor has ±0.05%FS accuracy and ±0.01%FS precision (to 1000bar). New features include enhanced memory and faster download. With increasingly stringent lithium battery shipping regulations, the HYDROlog 3000 overcomes potential transit issues by using standard field-replaceable batteries available across the world. Users can choose the type of battery most suitable for each deployment, whether alkaline, lithium or rechargeable.

HYDROlog - Flow Monitoring Hydrotest Logger

The HYDROlog 3000F is a new flow monitoring logger and is part of the HYDRO 3000 generation of hydrotest monitoring equipment. It is a compact logger that monitors one external flow sensor (TTL and sine wave compatible), as well measuring test pressure to 1400bar and ambient temperature, to depths of up to 4000m. The integral pressure sensor has ±0.05%FS accuracy and ±0.01%FS precision (to 1000bar). With increasingly stringent lithium battery shipping regulations, the HYDROlog 3000F overcomes potential transit issues by using standard field-replaceable batteries available across the world. Users can choose the type of battery most suitable for each deployment, whether alkaline, lithium or rechargeable. The HYDROlog 3000F features the intuitive AQUAtalk software and self-contained compact design, and is compatible with the new higher speed AQUAmodem Op2 subsea optical modem.

Gauge

HYDROgauge - Subsea Digital Pressure Gauge - to 1,000 m

Subsea Digital Pressure Gauge – to 1,000 m. The HYDROgauge™ features a high specification absolute pressure sensor that allows very precise measurement. Its low-power display makes it ideal for sustained subsea deployments.

Optical Modems

AQUAmodem - Advanced Subsea Optical Modem

The AQUAmodem Op2 is an advanced optical modem that provides a seamless interface between the user and any subsea instrumentation with RS232 serial interfaces, such as our AQUAlogger oceanographic instruments and HYDROlog hydrotest loggers. The connection is made typically via an ROV umbilical, providing simple use and deployment of the instrument. The AQUAmodem Op2 features individual unit addressing and automatic optical or serial data wake-up, to conserve the life of the external battery pack and prolong the service of the device. The instrument permits short-range interrogation, commanding, and data download for your subsea monitoring equipment, providing you with a cost-effective and efficient solution to solve your subsea communication needs. Optical modem system for short range subsea data transfer – to 3500m. Ideal for use with ROVs.

ROV/Diver

AQUAdisp - Subsea Digital Display

The AQUAdisp™ is a revolutionary new subsea display, designed to offer a compact and low power alternative to other comparable instruments. The AQUAdisp can monitor up to 16 parameters and display them over 4 screens. Data can also be presented graphically (on 16 graphs), with the last 33 measurements being shown on each compact plot. The low power technology means there is no need to turn it on or off. Three versions of the display are available, depending on whether it is to be used with Aquatec instrumentation or third party equipment. The AQUAdisp gives you the confidence in knowing that your monitoring instruments are working effectively.
