Aquation - Shutter Fluorometer
Aquation’s Shutter Fluorometer measures both the effective and maximal quantum yield of chlorophyll fluorescence using the “PAM” method. By use of its novel shutter mechanism, a photosynthetic sample (e.g. leaf, algal thallus) can alternately be exposed to full sunlight or be placed in darkness, without user intervention. The flexible software enables yield measurements, dark acclimations, light curves, induction cures, recovery curves and other user-defined actinic light treatments (including far red light) to be made at any time of the day.
Aquation - Classic Fluorometers
Aquation’s Classic Fluorometer series make chlorophyll a fluorescence measurements as simple as possible. These chlorophyll fluorescence systems measure the quantum yield of PSII photochemistry using the saturating pulse technique (PAM technique). Both actinic and far red lights are included. Users can develop their own custom programs. They can also use preinstalled programs for Rapid Light Curves, Induction Curves and Recovery Curves. Measurements and programs can be automatically repeated at regular intervals.
Aquation - Submersible Fluorometer
Aquation’s Classic Submersible Fluorometer combines the simplicity of the Classic Fluorescence Sensor with the utility and rugged design of the Submersible Datalogger. The Classic Submersible Fluorometer measures the effective quantum yield of PSII energy conversion, and can provide actinic light treatments such as Rapid Light Curves or other light treatments at any time of the day or night. Up to three Classic Submersible Fluorescence sensors can be easily operated automatically from one Submersible Datalogger. Optical signals are transmitted to and from the sample and sensor via a light pipe. The sample is held in a fixed position with respect to the light pipe with a sample holder. Use of this light pipe assembly ensures the sample is not shaded by the Classic Fluorescence Sensor.
Aquation - Handheld Fluorometer
The Handheld Fluorometer is designed to make field measurements quick and easy. The sensor is mounted on a pistol grip. The thumb is used to open the leaf clip for easy leaf insertion, and then a yield measurement is activated by depressing the trigger. Power and datalogging is provided by the Portable Datalogger that is carried with the shoulder strap provided; measurement profiles can be preprogrammed into the Portable Datalogger prior to commencing measurements.
Water Quality Monitoring System
Aquation provides a variety of Water Quality Monitoring solutions. Water quality parameters currently measured include: Conductivity/Salinity, Temperature, Dissolved oxygen, pH, Turbidity, Chlorophyll fluorescence, CDOM, Irradiance (PAR).
Light Sensor
Submersible miniature PAR sensor. Spherical design for measuring light in highly scattering media. Useful in biofuel applications. Wifi link enables remote access to system. Current design with four sensors connected to non-submersible controller. Useful in turbid field environments and where there is a lot of reflected light (e.g. sandy coral substrate).
Sydney Harbour Ferry Monitoring System
The Sydney Harbour Ferry Monitoring System is now online measuring dissolved oxygen, temperature, conductivity, chlorophyll a, fDOM and turbidity between Manly and Circular Quay. The project, initially funded by NSW Local Land Services, is currently being maintained by Aquation. With some funds from LLS to support a new pump and sonde calibration, we anticipate having the system up and running in summer 2017. Thanks in advance to City Harbour Ferries for upgrading the plumbing.
