ARA - Portable, Battery-Powered Particulate Sampler
The ARA N-FRM Sampler is a portable, battery-powered particulate sampler that establishes a new class of air sampler we call “Near FRM”. While it is not a certified US EPA Federal Reference Method sampler, the N-FRM Sampler delivers FRM accuracy at a fraction of the cost. It is the first of its kind to complete 24-hour sampling periods utilizing only battery-power at 16.7 LPM.
ARA - Low Flow Research Sampler
The Low Flow Research Sampler is a portable, rapidly deployable, battery-powered particulate sampling device. It utilizes FRM-style impactors for improved accuracy at 6 LPM and requires no grease or oil for low maintenance use. The compact-sized sampler can be configured to collect 24-hour TSP, PM10, or PM2.5 filter samples and can simultaneously measure and log all real-time sampling parameters, meteorological data, and particulate counts.
ARA - FTS Flow Calibrator
The FTS Calibrator accurately measures volumetric air flow, barometric pressure, and ambient temperature. Using a venturi-based flow element, the FTS Calibrator efficiently calibrates and audits ambient air samplers and industrial hygiene samplers. Its easy-to-use interface allows for simple programming and operation. Air flow is calculated and displayed at both ambient conditions and “standard” conditions of pressure and temperature.

ARA - Omnidirectional Inlet
The ARA omnidirectional PM10 Inlet is a compact version of the EPA prescribed Reference Method Inlet. It features a screened inlet, wind deflector, and precision PM10 inertial separator (impactor) with moisture trap. The PM10 Inlet is designed to operate at 1 cubic meter per hour (16.67 liters per minute). The inlet can be used alone for PM10 sampling or in combination with the ARA VIS-A sharp cut vortex inversion separator for PM2.5. PN 570-000.
ARA - Vortex Inversion Separator -
The ARA VIS-A (Vortex Inversion Separator) is a precision engineered and compact sharp-cut cyclone fitted to the N-FRM inlet that physically selects particles 2.5 microns and below. This ensures precise measurement of only the PM2.5 size fraction. The PM2.5 separator is designed to operate at 1 cubic meter per hour (16.67 liters per minute) and requires the ARA PM10 omnidirectional inlet to collect accurate PM2.5 samples. PN 520-000.
ARA - Filter Holder
The aluminum filter holder is precisely manufactured for a tight seal and no contamination of the filter media. The filter holder is designed to use common EPA specified 47mm cassettes for PM2.5 sampling. PN 510-000.
ARA - Adaptor
The Cr6+ Adaptor allows users to modify the N-FRM Sampler for Hexavalent Chromium sampling. The N-FRM Sampler’s flow rate can easily be adjusted to 15 LPM for standard sampling. Filter Holder is not included.
ARA - Wind Sensor
The Wind Sensor is a perfect addition to the ARA N-FRM Sampler for users interested in supplementing particulate sampling with wind speed and directional air sampling. In directional sampling mode the ARA N-FRM Sampler will only run when winds are blowing in a user-defined direction. Extension arm is included to raise sensor above the inlet.
ARA - Real-Time Particulate Profiler (RTP)
The RTP Profiler uses a Plantower light-scattering sensor to provide real-time data for two size ranges approximating PM10 and PM2.5. It is a low-cost sensor that is intended to show trends during the sample run, supplementing the filter data. The ARA N-FRM Sampler logs 5-minute averages during the filter sample collection. Data is stored and easily extracted via USB Flash Drive. The conversion factors from count to mass can be updated by the user for improved accuracy.
ARA - 47mm Filter Cassette
ARA 47mm Filter Cassettes are compatible with EPA Federal Reference Method PM10 and PM2.5 ambient particulate samplers and many engine emission test systems. Filter Cassettes are manufactured with precision and quality that exceeds published tolerances to ensure a consistent fit and finish.
