Monuments restoration is a very special operation needs a lot of care, distinct expertise, special historical repair materials, and special equipment. Integrated Systems for Bridges Construction - The Launching Girder System
The Arab Contractors has a complete Launching Girder system with bearing capacity up to 150 tons to construct spans up to 45 m.The launching girder system help in conquering the adverse site conditions and congested area. A simple explanation of this method is that a fabrication area is constructed at first. The bridge beams are concreted and prestressed. These beams are transported to position using a special carriage system. These trusses move until they are supported on the columns of the required span, then they lift the prestressed concrete beams. This system was used in 6 TH of October elevated road and Cairo Ring Road – 9D sector elevated road.
Ship Building and Repair
Maasara Shipyard built about 70 floating hotels, 5 stars restaurant, barges, river buses, floating units, yachts, launches and tugs. Besides, the department exported a river bus to Germany to be used in Rhine River and 4 river buses to Sudan.The department owns a vessels crane (capacity 1600 tons) which considered one of a kind in the River Nile starting from Cairo reaching Aswan. Two years later a new vessels crane erected in Armant City. Moreover, Maasara Shipyard has maritime workshops on Nasser Lake in front of the High Dam to build and serve the maritime units there. Besides, it serves the steel works in the South Valley. 4 touristic floating hotels, self-propelled barges and maritime units were built on the lake.
