ASCA - Autonomous Atmospheric Sensors
In October 2020, an autonomous system for monitoring atmospheric conditions was implemented at Wüst Technology's production site. This system addresses the crucial need for humidity and temperature control in precision electronics manufacturing. It employs a network of sensors powered by ASCA® Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) modules, which are optimized for energy harvesting in low-light environments. The OPV modules allow for cable and battery-free setup, simplifying installation and reducing maintenance costs while improving production quality. These flexible and lightweight modules can be seamlessly integrated into electronics using adhesive tape. This integration enhances functionality and autonomy by utilizing surrounding light energy, effectively mitigating battery-related environmental impacts. The system enables real-time monitoring and data-driven adaptation of production processes, aligning with core manufacturing goals.
