Atlas copco Welldrill`s WellDrill 3060CR well drilling rig is designed for all down-the-hole (DTH) drilling applications. It is mounted on a versatile crawler track platform with high ground clearance and 360-degree rotation, which makes this unit exceptionally well suited for work in restricted areas. Ten degrees of chain feeder tilt – forward, backward and sideways – make the unit very useful on undulating ground. It is supplied as standard with wide, heavy-duty rubber tracks that minimize soil disturbance. The chain feeder has a stinger mounting that permits vertical movement of the feeder.

Atlas copco Welldrill`s WellDrill 3060H is designed for horizontal drilling and is ideal for drilling 139.7 mm to193.7 mm (5 1/2” to 7 5/8” ) casings. Both the Power pack and the Drill feeder are equipped with container lifting taps for movements with mobile crane. With hydraulic cylinders mounted on the supporting legs the Drill feeder is sideways movable up to 300 mm. Four supporting legs allows vertical movement up to 400 mm. Equipped with duplicate controls for easily manoeuvring allows the controller to choose between radio or side panel controlling. The freestanding Power pack is connected to the Drill feeder with a 10 m cable string (electrical and hydraulic).

The optimal choice when drilling medium to deep (10- 60 m) holes and casing pipe is left permanently in the hole, especially when boulders are present which demand a robust ring bit. Symmetrix consists basically of three parts; pilot bit, hardened casing shoe and ring bit. In Symmetrix V, the casing shoe has been integrated into the ring bit.

When drilling with ODEX/TUBEX the reamer wings are out and thus drill a hole that is larger than the casing outer diameter. When desired drilling depth is aquired, the reamer swings in (retracting position) when the drilling rod is rotated backwards. Thus the drill bit can be retracted through the remaining casing to the ground. Thereafter, DTH drillling can be conducted if desired.
