Alongside the high capacity degassing systems for end-of-life refrigerators, ATN Engineering developed a small degassing unit that can be placed within your workshop or can be used as a mobile unit for which the small degasser is mounted on a trailer.

Protecting the environment are key words when talking about the degassing and de-oiling of end-of-life refrigerators. To avoid any possible contamination of the environment, by refrigerant gasses or oil, ATN Engineering developed an unique concept. This makes it possible to supply an environmentally safe and highly efficient degassing and de-oiling system. With this design a safe and efficient recycling of discarded refrigerators is assured.  The modular design makes it possible to build machines for high capacities, up to 200 fridges per hour, and high pressure gases from AC units.

Absorber type refrigerators using the cooling agent toxic ammonia (NH3) and toxic water containing antioxidants. Making these refrigerators a challenge to recycle. To safely and quickly de-gas en drain these units, ATN developed a one of a kind system for dealing with these kind of refrigerators and it`s aggressive and toxic liquids.

ATN environmental systems developed a high pressure system(plant) for fast, easy and environmental save degassing an de-oiling of old refrigerators and AC units containing CFC/ODS gasses. ATN`s patented drill head and special developed equipment will remove nearly 100% of oil and gasses.

Some recycling companies are alowed to only degass and de-oil the refrigerant from compressors of domestic fridges. Fully automatic degassing of these units is possible with our unique and patented automatic drill-head. We build complete unites that are able to degas and drain oil from refrigerator compressors in less than one minute.

No more expensive condensing of collected gas from refrigerant equipment stage one and two. With the ATN gas treatment plant you will be able to transform harmful gas into harmless salt and a little bit of CO2. That means a CO2 reduction of 50%, because there is no energy needed for a condensing unit and no CO2 is being produced during transport. Regardless whether the gas is flammable or not, the ATN gas treatment plant can handle it.

Efficiency: Having a well-thought-out logistical system in your recycling plant will increase the efficiency.  Our systems can handle up to 200 refrigerators an hour.

ATN receives more and more requests from customers (especially from outside Europe) for automatic handling systems. Refrigerators are becoming bigger and heavier. In countries like the USA the weight of a refrigerator can be well over 150kg. In order to avoid manual handling of these big refrigerators during the degassing process ATN developed an automatic handling system, the fridge turner.

The drill head is especially designed to drain a refrigerator in order to recycle it. The position of drilling, the diameter of drill and the time of drilling are all outcomes of studies and experience. Draining is done by drilling a hole of 2.5 mm in the compressor. Leakage is prevented by a rubber seal which is placed by vacuum.

Piercing pliers have a hollow needle and are placed on a copper pipe in order to punch trough. Originally they are made to only degas a refrigerator and not for draining the oil. The needle has an opening of 1,5 mm where the oil should also go through. When the oil is warm enough it will flow trough but when cold it will take more than 15 minutes to drain.
