Flue Gas Treatment Plants

ATS - Dry Electrostatic Precipitators

The dry electrostatic precipitators are considered the standard with regard to the dust removal in many industries as, for example, the glass industry. This is to some peculiar characteristics of this equipment: which allows high operating temperatures, up to 470 °C, and at the same time are able to give good efficiency, about 90 - 99%, in order to allow the reach of emissions values as low as 20 mg/Nm3.

ATS - Wet Electrostatic Precipitator

In a wet electrostatic precipitator (wet ESP) water is injected onto the surface of the collecting plates to achieve a thin film, it wll allow the removal of any deposition and keep maximum filtration yields. Indeed, in a wet electrostatic there is no back-corona effectdue to high resistivity of the dust, nor any re-trainement effect because of low resistivity, or, more generally, such equipment will not undergo to any effect related to dust resistivity. In addiction, in this system, with the injection of an alkaline reagent it is also possible to neutralise acid pollutants like SOx or HCl.

ATS - Fabric Filters

The fabric filters are among the equipment that can provide the best results in performance level with regard to the dust removal.

ATS - Quencers

Quencers are elements used to lower the flue gas temperature by injecting atomized water in co-current, usually flue gases come from the upper part of this element and distribution of injection is studied in a way to ensure a good mix with the gases themselves by avoiding wetting the walls. On the bottom so there will be no water deposit, thing that will reduce all problems of corrosion and acid condensation.

ATS - Scrubbers

The scrubbers use the principle of absorption of the pollutants in the liquid phase. The gases pass, in countercurrent,  through plates of different types or filling bodies fed by acidic or alkaline washing fluids. The scrubber is used as a finisher in order to reach very high level of neutralization or to remove micro-pollutants (Hg; heavymetals, dioxins and furans).
