Austin Security began in 1997 as a one man operation when after ten years in the industry, company President Pat McNamara took off on his own. Operating out of his basement, Pat grew his business by knocking on doors in the Edmonton area, until he was able to lease an office space and hire employees to his team.

Over the years, Pats wife Annette provided support by assisting with the bookkeeping and together, began raising their three children; twins, Mitch and Liam and Daughter, Alyssa. While spending days and nights at the ice rink and the swimming pool, the McNamara’s continued to grow Austin Security throughout the city of Edmonton and area.

Austin Security has grown exponentially over the last two and a half decades, with a client list expanding across Canada, the US and even overseas. The success of the company’s growth, is attributed to their committed, dedicated, and caring employees. The open office environment is a collaborative space including; the president, reception, sales, service, parts, administration, installation and IT help desk, allowing everyone to be part of a quick solution for the client.

The employee retention is indicative of the culture at Austin Security, with many spanning more than 10 years of committed service. Very few companies are able to provide support and service by the same person who originally installed your system, but Austin Security continues to excel with exceptional client care by long term employees.
