Sewage treatment plants often have problems with unpleasant odours coming from the open basins and sludge tanks, where the waste water is treated. The odour can be described as strong smell of drainage and rotten eggs, but it can be removed efficiently in a BBK-biofilter. The basins and tanks must be covered, so the foul air can be captured and treated in the BBK filter. BBK can offer the covers as well as supplying the filtermedia.

Locating a new biogas plant is often difficult due to neighbours fear of bad smell problems as many biogas plants have severe odour problems. From the many biogas plants that uses BBK technology we know that odour problems can be avoided. An example is Vegger Biogas plant, that used to have big problems with the local community. The plant wanted to expand  in 2014, but the authorities would only accept it, if they could guarantee that odour problems were eliminated.  BBK could guarantee this and the plant has been running ever since without any complaints from neighbours.

Several places in Europe the fish industry is in progress. With many new installations there is an increasing demand of protecting local environment. In some cases, a plug´n play solution in an isolated cassette is a great solution so solve an odour problem. In other cases, a more permanent solution is preferred.
