BDC - Gas Seal for Cementing
Gas Seal from BDC is a high molecular weight polymer solution, intended to control or prevent gas migration following primary cementing operations and in critical cement plugs. It is effective in combination with anionic additives such as lignosulphonate retarders and friction reducers, and laboratory testing is advised to prevent synergistic effects or precipitation. With a freezing point of -10°C, its application is adjustable with methanol additions. The recommended usage is between 5 to 20 liters per 100 kg of cement, typically around 10 liters, contingent on cement type and quality. Gas Seal maintains compatibility with various cements, including Portland, Slag, and Pozzolan, even in high salinity and calcium chloride conditions. Proper storage requires room temperature and tightly closed containers. It is marketed in 1050 kg IBCs or 125 kg drums.
