Becker/SMC - Belt Rip Detection System

The Becker Mining Systems Belt Rip Detection System BRS 2 is designed to enhance the performance of conveyor belts by promptly and accurately identifying belt rips. It involves embedding inductive loops into steel cable and fibre belts. Once integrated, the system detects these loops, systematically categorizing them and generating a real-time, comprehensive image of the belt and its loops. The BRS 2 employs continuous loop diagnostics to consistently evaluate belt health. In case a rip occurs, the system promptly halts the belt, thereby mitigating any further damage and minimizing operational downtime. Users can access and monitor the system locally, using its 12-inch TFT screen accompanied by shortcut buttons, a mousepad, and a virtual keypad, or remotely via network connections like TCP/IP or Modbus. Additionally, an IS (Intrinsically Safe) version of the BRS is available for enhanced safety.
