How it all began

BeGaMo® was founded in 2018 as a sole proprietorship and in 2019 the founder, Christina Granacher, recognised the challenge that all the companies she was in contact with were helpless and helpless in the face of the enormous complexity of sustainability requirements.

This gave rise to the idea of developing a standardised solution for as many different sustainability standards as possible. In a complex environment in which stakeholders such as customers, consumers, financial institutions and employees evaluate the sustainability practices of companies, the question arose: How can companies deal with this complexity and initiate a professional sustainability orientation?

In view of the growing pressure on companies, BeGaMo® has developed a solution for a gradual transition to more sustainable business practices. A structured and clear approach, from the definition of a clear strategy to the definition of measures and the identification of key performance indicators (KPIs), plays a decisive role in this. From the outset, the vision was to create a standardised software platform that combines as many aspects of sustainability as possible. Today, BeGaMo® enables companies to comply with all necessary standards in a largely automated manner with a manageable amount of effort and to transform the company as sustainably as possible by maximising transparency.

The corporate culture with the employees as the centrepiece and essential for the successful implementation of the sustainable corporate transformation of any company also plays an important role.

Our social activities

After 16 years in challenging international senior management, I (Christina Granacher) experienced burnout due to an additional case of illness in the family. The subsequent resignation and time out changed my view of my previous professional career forever. During my search for meaning, I focussed intensively on occupational health management, which ultimately led to my involvement with sustainability issues.

My trip to Sri Lanka, where I got to know the NGO Rainbow Foundation, was a decisive turning point. This organisation is committed to helping disabled and disadvantaged children. Meeting the German curative teacher Martin Henrich, the founder of the NGO, motivated me not only to support it financially, but also to get involved personally.

This gave rise to the idea of founding my own company that combines meaningful activities with social commitment. Through further training at Apollo University as a company health manager and at the University of Cambridge in the field of "Circular Economy and Sustainable Strategies", I created the professional basis for the foundation of BeGaMo®. It was decided that 10% of the profits would be donated to the NGO Rainbow Foundation, with the clear aim of setting up a therapy centre in Sri Lanka for disabled children. BeGaMo employees are expected to share and actively support these values and social commitment.

Brief introduction NGO Rainbow Foundation

The Rainbow Foundation Baddegama was founded in Sri Lanka in 2016 to support needy and disabled children and their families in the areas of education, rehabilitation, medical care, integration and international understanding. The foundation has been officially registered and recognised as a nongovernmental organisation (NGO) in Sri Lanka since 2017.

The head of the foundation, Martin Henrich, is an experienced curative educator with over 30 years of professional experience as head of the Camphill village community Hermannsberg. Following his deployment as a first responder after the 2004 tsunami, he travelled to Sri Lanka every year and has lived there permanently since his retirement. In 2013, the kindergarten was opened for 35 children and therapy places. The Rainbow Foundation team, consisting of therapists and dedicated volunteers, looks after children from socially disadvantaged families with mental and physical disabilities who cannot afford therapy on a daily basis free of charge.
