1. If there is a chance that the tank may be used to store a different chemical later, Belding Tank recommends using Derakane 411 vinyl ester resin in the corrosion barrier and isophthalic polyester resin in the structural layers even if temperatures are below 150° F.

Elevated temperatures contribute to chemical decomposition. Belding Tank’s bulk stored house resin is Derakane 411.

Higher temperatures may be allowed, but the service life of the tank will be reduced, and a different resin may be required. See Derakane’s latest Chemical Resistance Guide. For concentrations below 70% with temperatures below 150° F., isophthalic polyester resin may be used in the structural layers if spills are not a concern and to reduce cost.

Each tank is fabricated in sections at our plant. The sidewall sections are filament wound and have circumferential joints for field assembly. For shipping purposes, the sidewall sections are compressed to an oversize load width. The bottom and top heads are also made in sections suitable for shipping. The tanks are then assembled on-site by a Belding Tank® specialized crew or by qualified FRP assemblers under the supervision of Belding Tank®. This same concept can be applied to other FRP tanks where access to the tank area is limited.

BRINE-TEK™ Downflow Brinemakers utilize the proven design, reliability and industry exclusive FULL 2 YEAR FACTORY WARRANTY of Belding Tank, combined with a packaged component system to provide the end user with a turn-key solution to their brine making and storage needs. Downflow Brinemaking ensures consistent saturation of brine. As the influent water rises, the higher density brine sinks. With rock and solar salts, sludge accumulates at the bottom of the tank for easy removal. This also permits the desalinization of sludge by backwash leaching.

Belding Tank offers a variety of fittings for installation in your tank. Flanged nozzle – The most common of our fittings. May also be provided with Stationary or Removable style internal down pipe assemblies in either FRP or PVC.  Other removable down pipe materials are available upon request.
