BHS - Rotary Pressure Filter (RPF)
The BHS Rotary Pressure Filter is a continuously operating unit for pressure filtration, cake washing and drying of slurries up to 50% solids.` Filtration is conducted via pressure of up to 6 bar. Positive displacement washing, reflux or counter-current washing follows filtration. Multiple washing steps as well as solvent exchanges, steaming and extraction can also be accomplished. Finally, the cake is dried by blowing hot or ambient-temperature gas through the cake. The Filter has a uniquely designed discharge system, which provides for atmospheric discharge from pressure filtration. After automatic cake discharge, the filter cloth is washed; the clean filter cloth the re-enters the feeding / filtration zone thereby continuing the process. All solvent and gas streams can be recovered separately and reused in the process to minimize their consumption.
BHS - Continuous-Indexing Vacuum Belt Filter
The BHS Continuous-Indexing Vacuum Belt Filter provides for vacuum filtration, cake washing, pressing, and drying of high solids slurries. The technology is based upon fixed vacuum trays, continuously feeding slurry systems, and indexing or stepwise movement of the filter media. For the process operation, due to the stepwise operation of the belt, washing and drying efficiencies are maximized with the stopped belt and the mechanism of “plug-flow” for gasses and liquids. Cake pressing and squeezing further enhances drying. Finally, the fixed trays allow for the mother liquor and the wash filtrates to be recovered individually and recirculated/recovered/reused for a more efficient operation. Steaming as well as counter-current washing are able to be integrated into the design.
BHS - Rubber Belt Filter
The BHS Rubber Belt Filter is a continuous vacuum filtration system designed for cake washing and drying of high-solids slurries. It features a filter cloth supported by a rubber, EPDM, or synthetic drainage belt. Filtrate tubes separate the filtrates into dedicated receivers for recovering mother liquor, wash filtrates, counter-current washing, and drying gas. The drainage belt moves on specially coated rollers, eliminating the need for air and water sliding systems. The roller-supported belt enables fast filtration and large filter areas, up to 200 m², ideal for handling heavy cakes. The system can also integrate steaming and counter-current washing as part of the design.
BHS - Candle Filter
The BHS Candle Filter is designed for thin-cake, batch filtration and supports additional processes such as cake washing, drying, reslurry, and automatic cake discharge. The cake can be discharged as dry, wet, or concentrated slurry. Available in filter areas ranging from 0.17 m² to over 200 m² per vessel, the Candle Filter is ideal for clarification and recovery applications, handling liquids with low solids content ranging from 5% to ppm levels. BHS filter candles are engineered for high liquid flow and low-pressure drop. Cake discharge is achieved by distributing gas to gently expand the filter sock. The materials of construction include stainless steel, alloys, and plastics, with vessels optionally lined with EPDM, Halor, PTFE, or other materials. Additionally, filter aids can be used as a precoat and/or body feed, which is particularly beneficial for handling sticky products or challenging filtration tasks.
BHS - Pressure Plate Filter
The BHS Pressure Plate Filter provides for thin-cake batch filtration, cake washing, drying, reslurry and automatic cake discharge as well as heel filtration in a pressure vessel. Cake can be discharged as dry cake, wet cake or a concentrated slurry. Units are available from 0.35 m² to full production models. Pressure Plate Filters are installed for clarification and recovery applications from liquids with low solids content ranging from 5% to PPM levels.
