Bikis Water Consultants services

Bikis Water Consultants (BWC) conducts groundwater and surface water evaluations to aid in existing and future development projects. We assist the private and public sectors in developing a physical and legal water supply to realize potable and non-potable water demands.

BWC assists clients in evaluating water quality, primarily in drinking water and agricultural water systems. Our staff works closely with EPA certified water quality testing laboratories to identify existing water conditions, ensure compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act and State water quality regulations, and when necessary, develops recommendations for improvements in water quality. BWC staff also has experience designing and implementing surface water quality studies to help determine the condition and health of streams, rivers and lakes.

BWC is highly qualified to perform hydrogeologic analyses to determine the available water supply for a given study area. It is something we do best. BWC evaluates the recharge area and extent of aquifers using a comprehensive understanding of geologic information, geophysical data, existing well data, and pump test analyses. The understanding of these parameters helps determine an aquifer’s available water supply. We have performed these investigations for a proposed development in an arid New Mexico community, as well as for multiple water conservation districts in Colorado and for several Native American tribes in California.

Lakes naturally age and can become filled with weeds and algae. Streams can be affected by sediment and water diversions causing low flows. These situations can often be remedied to return the lake to its original condition, or improve a stream for fishing. BWC provides services for lake restoration and stream improvements. We believe in a comprehensive approach to lake restoration that addresses the underlying causes, and not just the symptoms. Services for lake restoration and studies include preparation of lake management plans, lake enhancement programs, and lake dredging. Services for stream improvements include preparation of habitat improvement plans for fishing and stream enhancement.
