Bioaugmentation Technology
The Special Forces for biological processes: well trained, fast and effective. Research has shown that the speed and effectiveness of biological processes highly increases when, besides addition of nutrition, specialised bacteria or fungi are added. You could consider these specialised bacteria or fungi to be the special forces of the army: well trained, fast and effective. After the job is done, they disappear. The addition of these specialised bacteria or fungi is what we call bioaugmentation.
Nawabo - Groundwater Contamination Biological Filter
Nawabo, the sustainable, effective biological filter for groundwater contamination. Nawabo is a concept developed by Bioclear earth, in which the sediments itself is actively utilised for the remediation of contaminated groundwater. Nawabo stands for natural degradation in sediments. We control the contamination by utilising the biological processes, which naturally occur in sediments. Bacteria present in the sludge degrade the contaminants in the groundwater, before the groundwater reaches the surface water.
Microbial Analysis Technology
Space technology on planet earth. In the 90s Bioclear earth collaborated with ESA (European Space Agency) to develop a warning system that detects pathogenic bacteria aboard of the International Space Station. Specific pieces of genetic material (DNA and/or RNA) that are unique to these pathogens are applied in this system. This DNA/RNA screening method has been developed futher and refined, and is now applied to detect harmful and useful bacteria in water, soil and materials.
TCE-concept - Bioclear Technology
The TCE-concept was developed by Bioclear earth in the 90s and has been optimized by us since. Nowadays it is the standard procedure for soil remediation of areas contaminated with hazardous chlorinated compounds such as tri- and perchloroethylene. These pollutants have entered the environment due to the activity of chemical cleaning companies or industrial metal degreasing for the production of for example cars and electronics.
Bacterial Removal Technology
Bacterial removal of mineral oil and aromatic compounds. When an area is contaminated with mineral oil or aromatic compounds, like for instance benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene and naphthalene (BTEXN), these pollutants can be removed via a biological approach we call biosparging. We make clever use of nature’s resourcefulness by putting aerobic bacteria that can break down mineral oils and BTEXN to work. However, the deeper layers of the soil and groundwater are mostly anaerobic. To accommodate the bacteria of oxygen we therefore inject this into the soil and groundwater with injection filters. This direct supply of oxygen to the bacteria enhances their degradation capacity of the minerals oils and BTEXN.
