BIOWORKS Verfahrenstechnik GmbH can supply both in-house products as well as equipment from reputable sub-suppliers and manufacturers.

Once a treatment plant is finalized regarding construction and installation, the commissioning phase will start. Usually equipment is tested electrically and mechanically first after installation (“dry commissioning”). Once this has been successfully conducted, the process and equipment is tested with water (“wet commissioning”), the tanks are filled and gradually loaded with waste water and the plant can go into operation. It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks months for the biological process to establish itself. During this important project phase, our commissioning engineers will support and guide through the commissioning process, until the plant has reached its contractoral parameters and can be handed over.

The BIOWORKS service team is at your disposal. We provide assistance, support and supply of spare parts, long after the treatment plant has been put into operation. We can also arrange on-site visits and assistance.

Constant research and development is essential for the BIOWORKS® team success. BIOWORKS products go through continuous analysis and improvements. BIOWORKS uses important knowledge and analysis obtained from its practical applications on the treatment plants. Furthermore, we can always test and simulate our aeration products using our own test benches at the BIOWORKS production site in Kirn, Germany. If ever required, ‘’in house’’ Oxygen transfer efficiency tests in puer-water, according to DIN 12255-15, can be always performed at our testing facilities.

The aeration system is the heart and soul of each aerobic treatment plant. Not only does the aeration system provide the necessary oxygen for the biological process, it´s also the largest contributor to the electrical bill. Dependent on type and process, the aeration system may consume up to 80 % of the total electrical energy.   Besides, insufficient aeration can cause lack of oxygen, which will result in problems with process, smell and non-compliance with effluent regulations. So upgrading and replacing an old inefficient aeration system would seem like a very good idea. However many owners shy away from the investment. In the last couple of years, BIOWORKS® has upgraded numerous treatment plants with its modern and efficient aeration system OXIWORKS®. We have helped modernize conventional treatment plants, old Biolak systems as well as aerated lagoons. The feedback from our customers is overwhelmingly positive. In all cases, the treatment and process itself was improved and the cost for electrical energy significantly reduced. The investment proved to be worth the effort.
