BMP Supplies - Type 1 DOT Turbidity Curtain

BMP Supplies Type 1 DOT Turbidity Curtains are manufactured to meet DOT approvals for curtains to be deployed in water with little to no flow rates. Made from 18oz PVC Coated material, BMP Supplies Type 1 DOT Turbidity Curtains are durable and economic option for your project. The Type 1 curtain is recommended for construction sites located in protected areas that are exposed only to light winds and to current velocities of less than one foot per second. This type of site may include ponds, shallow lakes, small streams and marshes. Standard stocking size is 5′ depth, however custom sizes are available

BMP Supplies Type 2 Industrial Turbidity Curtains are manufactured to increase the overall strength of the curtain allowing for it’s deployment in waters with higher flow rates. The BMP Supplies Type 2 Industrial Turbidity Curtain is manufactured with top load cables, stress plates for reinforcing the corners, and 24″ ASTM Universal connector plates used to connect one section to another. The floats are covered with 18 or 22oz PVC Fabric and the skirt is manufactured using a woven fabric which allows for water to flow through the skirt while still filtering all soil and sediment. The Type 2 Industrial Curtain is designed to handle more severe conditions such as lakes, streams, inter coastal and tidal areas where current velocities up to five feet per second are expected.

BMP's Catch Basin Donuts are designed to have the rainwater pond and filter into the catch basin near construction sites. Primary benefits of the catch basin include easy installation and even easier maintenance for your erosion control needs. Once the donut is installed, all that is required for maintenance is the use of a broom or shovel to remove the collected sediment around the catch basin. The filter fabric wraps around the grate and is fastened with the belting and buckles attached. The protected grate is then reinserted into the frame support. The winter/trash guard option has strong outdoor mesh fabric sewn over the donut to help protect the foam filter from ripping off during snow removal and grading. The fabric also keeps trash from entering the overflow opening

They are manufactured in bright orange polyethylene fabric with yellow stripes for maximum visibility and filled with weed free kiln dried wood shavings. This product takes just minutes to install; pop out the grate, surround the hole with the flap to the inside and reinsert the grate.

The product is positioned between the catch basin and the grate when installed. CB Sacks are available in various sizes depending on the grate to be protected.
