Medium Voltage Apparatus
Boffetti - Gas Insulated System for Secondary Distribution
The HICOS DVB gas-insulated system is designed for secondary electrical distribution, integrating a vacuum circuit breaker with a three-position disconnector in a single compact unit. This system uses vacuum interrupters and places both components in a sealed, gas-filled stainless steel container. The gas serves as the insulation for live parts, allowing for a reduced footprint with unit compartments as narrow as 375 mm. Such a design is beneficial for constructing air-insulated switchgear (AIS) and medium voltage/low voltage (MV/LV) transformer substations. The HICOS DVB system is versatile, suitable for installation in panels by third-party manufacturers, and is widely used across various sectors including renewable energy, utilities, industries, and infrastructure projects such as rail transport and airports. Tested at CESI and approved by Enel GSCM005, this system adheres to IEC standards and maintains a patent pending status.

Boffetti - Combined Current and Voltage Sensors
HICOS CVS sensors are innovative devices designed for efficient integration into switchgear systems. They provide the connection between line terminals and switchgear in a unified block for each phase. The sensors use an air-wound coil known as a Rogowski coil for current measurement and a capacitive circuit with a voltage divider for voltage measurement. These sensors are especially relevant in gas-insulated switchgear for secondary distribution, as well as in electrical distribution and medium/low-voltage transformer substations. They are ideal for utilities and energy production plants, including both conventional and renewable sources, as well as in light industry, transport, and tertiary sectors. The sensors have been tested at CESI in accordance with IEC standards and are noted for being manufactured without a ferromagnetic circuit. The technology is patent pending, indicating ongoing innovation and refinement in their design and application.
