Carten’s BPV Series sanitary pinch valve offers unique advantages over traditional ‘throw away’ polymer components for shut-off single use applications. The valve structure and top works is manufactured utilising polished stainless steel, allowing all tubing brands and compounds to be operated indefinitely from batch-to-batch, with no physical break to the process tubing preventing any possibility of contamination. Single use tubing sizes from 1/8” to 1” ID can be covered using just two differing valve sizes, allowing the end user to interchange just two components whenever a new line size is required. Manual valves provide accurate flow control, with pneumatic top works and instrumentation available as required. 

Carten-Fujikin’s BND series dome diaphragm valves provide a high purity and sanitary environment to protect valuable biologic product, in particular after purification (i.e. chromotography). This is due to minimal product contact with any synthetic polymers, therefore preventing any leaching into the product before vial-filling. Electropolished 316L (valve body) and high grade Hastelloy C22 (diaphragm) provide the primary product contact materials of construction, supplemented by a high performance PFA seat insert to provide an internal seal to vacuum level. Due to these superior materials of construction the valve assembly can see up to 2m cycles, with the unique internal profiles allowing accurate control for smaller volumes. As the Valve structure is constructed from high grade ASTM barstock the unique valve profile and Carten capabilities allow multiple block format configurations, suitable for filling lines and chromotography columns in particular.

Carten’s BNW Series contains a unique diaphragm sealing system eliminating polymer creep, therefore increasing the durability and thermal cycling capability beyond ASME BPE standard requirements. Constant re-torqueing and replacement of diaphragms is unnecessary, reducing variability to system and process performance. The unique top works thin-wall technology for manual and pneumatic versions facilitates a light weight product suitable for reducing unnecessary weight on process skids. Sterilization capability of up to 150°C, and system pressure up to 10 BAR, ensure the lowest total cost of ownership for equipment makers and system owners. The BNW series is available in 2-Way and block configurations.
