Field Services
cbec performs a variety of field services to support project specific needs. Such services include: Topographic and bathymetric surveying – cbec owns RTK GPS equipment and bathymetric hydrographic survey equipment, and uses them in a variety of different settings.Hydrologic Services
Our hydrologic services include the use of programs such as HEC-HMS, SWMM and HSPF to calculate runoff from watersheds. Our staff routinely uses hydrologic modeling at the watershed scale, including water balance, spreadsheet, and GIS techniques. We use HEC-HMS in conjunction with the Soil Moisture Algorithm and we have been pioneering its use for continuous, long-term simulations for hydromodification planning.Geomorphic Services
cbec provides geomorphic services in rivers, estuaries and tidal zones. We conduct field reconnaissance (including Rapid Assessment Methods and `fluvial audits`), geomorphic interpretation and assessment, channel migration analysis, habitat restoration, and GPS mapping of geomorphic features. A thorough understanding of the physical processes involved in tidal and fluvial environments is essential to the design of our projects and at cbec we work hard at understanding these processes. For example, understanding the geomorphic setting of our project sites is essential.
