CellDesigner - Software for Planning & Designing Wireless Communication Systems
CellDesigner™ is a next generation suite of RF planning and optimization tools that is based on customer experience perspective and provides reliable/long lasting network performance. The tools in CellDesigner™ suite include CelPlanner™ for network modeling and analyses of coverage and interference, and traffic simulation; CellNetwork™ for backhaul planning; CellPerformance™ for integration of field measurement data (filtering, post-processing and model calibration), automatic cell planning (ACP), automatic frequency and resource planning (AFP), and hyper windows visualization to facilitate analysis of output data; and CelData™ for GIS database editing. Vendor-agnostic, the tools’ flexible interface allows modeling of multiple wireless technologies, from the latest 5G-NR, 4G-LTE and WiFi 6.0, through 3G, 2G and other legacy systems.
CellNetwork Software
Part of CellDesigner, CellNetwork allows detailed analysis of point-to-point links up to 60 GHz. Single point-to-point links can be designed considering terrain, clutter, tower heights, and multiple-knife diffraction. CellNetwork™ can display obstruction in Fresnel zones as well as the path loss. Tower height requirements are automatically displayed for each configuration. A database of all other existing links can be assembled on a regional or national basis. For lower frequencies, CellNetwork™ uses the Picquenard method (also known as the Deygout model) to calculate the attenuation caused by diffraction. After the diffraction situation is determined, a user can analyze other parameters that determine the unavailability objectives established to meet the ITU-R quality standards of this link. For frequencies over 10 GHz, CellNetwork™ can calculate rain attenuation for each link and then analyze additional parameters.
