Copper wire conductors with a jacket facilitate the design of active protective devices. A new fiber concept from CeramOptec® increases safety in the use of fiber-coupled high-power lasers. Copper-wire conductors support the design of active protective devices that interrupt the laser circuit in the event of fiber breakage or connection faults and protect the user from escaping radiation.

CeramOptec manufactures a comprehensive line of assemblies, cable assemblies, bifurcated assemblies, patch cords, bundles, and more - all custom designed to your specifications. Assemblies can be made from any of our top quality fibers and your choice of a broad range of sheathing, cabling, or jacketing. In addition, we offer all standard connectors or custom designed ferrules to suit applications from the deep UV to MIR.

CeramOptec^® in cooperation with Ceram Optec SIA guarantees highest quality and best transmission for fiber optic bundles within the scope of their application. To optimize a bundle, we take various parameters into account: Packing efficiency, efficient fiber distribution, optimal numerical aperture, fiber transmission, reflection and an error factor (includes numerical aperture variations). The high-quality fiber optic bundles can be manufactured from any fiber and according to your choice in several configuration and design variants. In addition, a variety of connectors (including all standard connectors or custom ferrules manufactured in-house) are available.

Leading the Way in Long-Term Performance: PowerLightGuide bundles with fused ends and assemblies set the standard for long-term high performance. When tested over 40,000 continuous, unfiltered hours, our PowerLightGuide bundles show consistent and stable transmission of 95% of the original input. Traditionally, the transmission rate was limited by the NA and the packing factor in the active fiber core area. The PowerLightGuide bundles with fused ends from CeramOptec® in cooperation with Ceram Optec SIA preserve the NA of the fibers while providing a typical 50% increase in transmission. PowerLightGuides are used in applications with temperatures up to 600°C and are among the most advanced fiber bundles available today.

A tapered optical fiber is used e.g. to lead a collimated beam with a relatively large diameter into a smaller fiber or to get a better energy density in the immediate vicinity of the fiber output. CeramOptec in cooperation with Ceram Optec SIA offers fused and tapered optical fibers of the highest quality. All tapered assemblies are available with standard connectors or individually designed ferrules.

OPTICAL FIBER FEEDTHROUGH Feedthroughs seal an optical fiber within a metal sleeve. The fiber is held in a fixed position with a glass-to-metal seal. CeramOptec`s® pressure and vacuum feedthroughs are available in multiple configurations for various sized fibers. They offer exceptional reliability and smooth operation for even the most demanding applications. Due to the excellent quality of CeramOptec® multi-purpose fibers, they are used in a variety of applications. The possibilities are almost unlimited. Vacuum feedthroughs can be manufactured according to customer specifications in any design regarding cells, flanges and ports and are suitable for a wide range of wavelengths.
