Waukesha Gas Engines
Waukesha mobileFLEX - Gas Engine for Drilling Rig Power Generations
The mobileFLEX portfolio is the latest advancement from GE to deliver lower-cost, lower-emission power to drill rigs, artificial lift enhanced oil recovery and oilfield equipment. An all-gas alternative to diesel units, mobileFLEX is an EPA mobile-certified solution that provides a cost advantage to energy producers and operational advantage to drilling contractors by utilising field gases. For oilfield power applications, the mobileFLEX engine portfolio is a superior power solution for drill rigs, liquids reinjection, lift pumps, and temporary accommodations.

Carbon Filters
A carbon filter is an in-line container filled with activated carbon granules. Carbon filters are used for the removal of contaminants for the fuel gas to gas engines. Activated carbon has a high propensity for the adsorption of fuel gas contaminants. Carbon filters are often a necessity for tricky gases such as landfill gas, which often contain large amounts of contaminants. The carbon needs to be replaced periodically depending upon the level of contamination in the fuel gas. Clarke Energy is able to supply carbon filers as part of the deliver of a full gas engine combined heat and power plant.
Ancillary Equipment for Jenbacher Gas Engines - Exhaust Cleaning
CL.AIR - Exhaust After-Treatment System
The CL.AIR Exhaust After-Treatment System for GE’s Jenbacher gas engines is a thermal regenerative post-combustion system for engine exhaust gases. Since no catalytic reactions take place during the thermal treatment of the exhaust, as it is insensitive to impurities in the fuel gas, the CL.AIR system is particularly suitable for use with critical gases such as biogas, for which catalytic converters either cannot be used or are used only to a limited extent. In addition CL.AIR decomposes the unburned methane in the exhaust gas and provides extra exhaust heat. The CL.AIR Exhaust After-Treatment System is applicable to Type 2, 3, and 4 Jenbacher gas engines.
Carbon Dioxide Scrubbers
When methane is used as a fuel in a gas engine it is burnt and converted to carbon dioxide and other trace elements. This carbon dioxide is released as a hot gas in the CHP plant exhaust.
Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) for CHP Plants
Along with the supply of a GE Jenbacher cogeneration plant, Clarke Energy can provide exhaust gas catalysts for the scrubbing of exhaust gases. Exhaust gas purification systems are able to reduce harmful exhaust gases by up to 95%. The exhaust gas purification system can consists of up to three consecutive stages, depending on the requirements of the application, to purify the exhaust gases: The soot filter (not always required). The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) process for reducing the oxides of nitrogen (NOx). The oxidation catalyst process for catalytic combustion of CO and un-burnt hydrocarbons.
Biological Gases
Mechanical Biological Treatment with Anaerobic Digestion
Disposal and treatment of biological waste represent a major challenge for the waste industry. For a wide range of organic substances from agriculture, foodstuff of feed industries, anaerobic fermentation is a superior alternative to composting. Biogas – a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide – is created during anaerobic digestion and serves as a high-energy renewable fuel that can be used as a substitute for fossil fuels. Biogas-fuelled gas engines improve waste management while maximising the use of an economical energy supply.
Power
Quadgeneration Systems
Quadgeneration systems are some of the most advanced gas engine driven power plants in the world. Quadgeneration encompasses the features of a trigeneration system, with combined electricity, heat and cooling but in addition includes the recovery of carbon dioxide from the exhaust gas. This carbon dioxide is scrubbed and can be used in industrial process or offers the potential for carbon sequestration.
