CIF® (Continuous Ionic Filtration)

Our Continuous Ionic Filtration (CIF® )technology uses continuous ion exchange and physical filtration (if required) to selectively remove contaminants from water. The technology is proven and built on the foundations of ion exchange, a process that has been used in the water industry for over 50 years. CIF® uses a moving bed of charged resin beads to attract and remove ionic species from water whilst filtering the water of suspended solids, ensuring optimum efficiency and continuous high performance. Commercially available ion exchange resin can be used in the system, with the resin type chosen based on the contaminants being targeted. REDUCED PRE-TREATMENT REQUIREMENTS AND EASY OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE TOLERATES SUSPENDED SOLIDS IN THE FEED AND CAPABLE OF PHYSICAL FILTRATION HIGLY RESISTANT TO SCALING AND FOULING

DESALX® (Membrane Free Desalination)

Our DESALX® technology consists of two CIF® (Continuous Ionic Filtration) modules in series removing multivalent cations (such as calcium, magnesium, and other metals), and then multivalent anions (such as sulphate) from water in a complementary processes. Monovalent ions such as sodium and chloride pass through the system, avoiding creating a difficult to manage saline brine, which is often produced by membrane technologies such as reverse osmosis. The gypsum based brine produced by DESALX® can be sent to existing lime precipitation systems on site to produce gypsum solids for a true zero liquid discharge (ZLD) solution. If lime precipitation isn’t already available, DESALX® can be combined with a high density sludge (HDS) clarifier for a low cost ZLD solution. SELECTIVE CONTAMINANT REMOVAL FOR HIGHER WATER RECOVERY AND LESS WASTE PRODUCTION EASILY CONFIGURED TO PRODUCE A SOLID WASTE, AVOIDING EVAPORATION PONDS MEMBRANE FREE PROCESS HIGLY RESISTANT TO SCALING AND FOULING

HIROX® (Chemical Free Ultra High Recovery Reverse Osmosis)

HIROX® (High Recovery Reverse Osmosis) combines our CIF® (Continuous Ionic Filtration) technology with reverse osmosis (RO) to provide a highly effective water treatment process. HIROX® uses ion exchange to remove di- and tri-valent cations such as calcium, magnesium and heavy metals from waste waters, while simultaneously filtering suspended solids if required. These ions are primarily responsible for the precipitation (scaling) that occurs on the RO membranes when operating at high recoveries. With this scaling potential removed, the RO process can be more efficient with higher recoveries, resulting in lower waste brine volumes. VERY HIGH WATER RECOVERY (TYPICALLY 95-99%) AND LOW WASTE PRODUCTION CHEMICAL FREE PRETREATMENT FOR EASIER OPERATION AND LOWER CHEMICAL COSTS HIGLY RESISTANT TO SCALING AND FOULING BY REMOVING ADVERSE SPECIES PRIOR TO RO LONGER TIME BETWEEN CLEANS AND LONGER MEMBRANE LIFE LOWER TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP MINIMUM LIQUID DISCHARGE SOLUTION

BIOCLENS® Lens Encapsulated Bacteria

Cost Effective Ammonia and Nitrate Removal to low levels Our BIOCLENS® technology uses bacteria encapsulated in lenses as a biocatalyst to enhance and accelerate natural biological processes which break down organic matter. The lenses contain living bacteria which is immobilised in a stable, porous PVA gel matrix. As these are stirred in a reactor, water and dissolved impurities diffuse through the lenses and come in contact with the bacteria, causing targeted reactions to occur. The specific bacteria required for nitrification or denitrification can be encapsulated in the lens, creating intensified activity. The encapsulation protects bacteria in saline environments and from high concentration of ammonia or nitrate in the feed (above 1,000ppm). ACHIEVE VERY LOW AMMONIA AND NITRATE LEVELS (<1PPM) SMALLER SITE FOOTPRINTS DUE TO HIGH BACTERIA ACTIVITY HIGH ACTIVITY IN SALINE ENVIRONMENTS AND WITH HIGH INFLUENT CONCENTRATIONS DUE TO ENCAPSULATION LOW CAPITAL AND LIFE-CYCLE COSTS

BIONEX™ Complete Nitrate Removal

BIONEX™ uses a combination of our CIF® (Continuous Ionic Filtration) technology, and BIOCLENS® (lens encapsulated bacteria) technology to selectively remove nitrate from water. CIF® selectively removes nitrate from the water using ion exchange and concentrates it into a small brine volume. The brine is treated using BIOCLENS® to convert the nitrate into harmless nitrogen gas. This allows the brine to be recycled and used again to regenerate the ion exchange resin, greatly reducing chemical consumption and waste production of the system. CONSTANTLY REACH LOW NITRATE CONCENTRATIONS OF (<1PPM) IN ALL CONDITIONS VERY HIGH WATER RECOVERY AND LOW WASTE PRODUCTION DUE TO BRINE REUSE SMALLER SITE FOOTPRINTS BY USING ION EXCHANGE ON THE MAIN STREAM LOW OPERATIONAL COSTS EVEN FOR LARGE FLOWRATES

PHOSPHIX™ Complete Phosphate Phosphorus Removal and Recovery

PHOSPHIX™ is a combination of our Continuous Ionic Filtration (CIF®) technology and chemical precipitation. This phosphate technology involves the ion exchange process selectively removing phosphate from the water. Phosphate is precipitated into a solid phosphorus product with low solubility, suitable for recycling. Precipitating the phosphate from the brine allows it to be recycled in the brine loop and used again to regenerate the ion exchange resin. This greatly minimises chemical consumption, waste production, has a smaller footprint, and has roughly half the operating cost when compared to commonly used precipitation systems. Using our PHOSPHIX™ technology, total phosphate effluent concentrations below 0.1 ppm can consistently be achieved. CONSTANT PHOSPHATE REMOVAL TO <0.1 PPM USING ION EXCHANGE VERY HIGH WATER RECOVERY (TYPICALLY >99%) AND LOW WASTE PRODUCTION SMALLER SITE FOOTPRINTS CREATS A SOLID, REUSABLE PHOSPHORUS PRODUCT WITH LOW SOLUBILITY

EVAPX® Low Energy Evaporation and Crystallisation

Summary of EVAPX® Technology EVAPX® evaporates wastewater using humidification and dehumidification, allowing evaporation to occur at temperatures lower than boiling point and at atmospheric pressure, reducing the heating required and cost associated with pressure vessels. The distillate produced by EVAPX® is highly pure water, which can be reused or safely discharged to the environment. EVAPX® can be configured to produce a concentrated liquid brine, a slurry, or solid waste depending on the client’s needs. EVAPX® can be powered by electricity, steam, waste heat or solar energy. LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND CAPABLE OF UTILISING WASTE HEAT TO REDUCE COSTS VERY HIGH WATER RECOVERY (TYPICALLY >99%) HIGHLY RESISTANT TO SCALING AND FOULING SINCE EVAPORATION OCCURS AWAY FROM HEAT INPUT LOW CAPITAL AND OPERATING COSTS EASY OPERATION, CLEANING, AND MAINTENANCE
