SeaSonde

SeaSonde - Model SSRS-100 - Remote Unit System

Operators must adhere to local radiated signal regulations and receive proper authorizations prior to operation. Licenses should be obtained by system operator/owner prior to transmission. System can be manufactured to be tuned for operation at user-specified frequency, which can be one of the authorized oceanographic radar bands as defined by ITU, or any other band authorized by presiding local authority. Transmitted signals are within the latest ITU guidelines for oceanographic HF radar.

SeaSonde - Model HF - Radar System

The SeaSonde HF radar system by CODAR Ocean Sensors is your solution for making continuous, wide-area ocean observations. The SeaSonde will provide you with years of real-time data over large coverage areas, with ranges up to 200 km -- This is not possible with any other technology! The SeaSonde is a compact, non-contact surface current and wave measurement system that can be deployed and maintained easily, and will perform even during extreme weather conditions such as hurricanes.

SeaSonde - Model SSDP-100 or SSDP-100EX - Central Site Management / Data Combining Station

The SeaSonde Central Site is the hub for monitoring and combining data from all the Remote Units in your entire SeaSonde network. Manage data transfers from remote sites so that you can produce and display the most up-to-date current maps. Display diagnostic data in one convenient place for quick operator access. SSDP-100 hardware can be installed locally or in a data center thousands of kilometers away. Data can be combined from standard SeaSonde remote unit traditional radial vector maps and also from the new ellipitcal vector maps that will increase data density and expand coferage area. Multi-stage automatic Quality Control is built in to the processing to meet real-time operational needs. Additional software allows for value-added information from your data like real-time drifter tracks and sub-diurnal time scale filtering, among others. Whether you have two sites or 24, the Central Site unit will make monitoring and management of your SeaSonde network a streamline task.

SeaSonde Network Accessories

SeaSonde - Model SSTR-101 - Small Portable Transponder Extender Kit

Small, portable transponder used for SeaSonde antenna pattern measurements. The SeaSonde Transponder is built into a water-resistant (not waterproof) case containing transponder electronics and can be used on boat or land. The SSTR-101 comes with parts suitable for operation at frequencies between 24-50 MHz.

SeaSonde - Model SSRA-BSHG-A - Antenna Base Hinge Assembly

CODAR designed the SeaSonde Antenna Base Hinge Assembly to ease maintenance and repair work for field technicians. This assembly enables a single operator to more simply lower and upright a SeaSonde antenna. The SeaSonde Antenna Base Hinge Assembly is compatible with the dome-style antennas (receive-only and combined transmit-receive) and long-range transmit antennas. The assembly is both durable and rugged, fabricated of 316 stainless steel. The hinge assembly can be fixed to a variety of footings including a concrete pile or a steel base plate (such as shown in example below). Footings are not included.

SeaSonde - Model SSRA-GR-A - Dome Antenna Guy Rope Holder Kit

Securing your dome-style antenna using guy ropes is made simple with a new “Dome Antenna Guy Rope Holder”. The Dome Antenna Guy Rope Holder Flange is a specially fabricated ring with 4 eye hooks that feeds onto the antenna mast for attaching guy ropes. The flange is constructed of painted fiberglass. All exposed metal parts: washers, nuts and eyebolt screw are 316 SS. Eye bolts have diameter of 3/8". The rope included with this kit is the following: four sections of rope, each 30 feet long. High-Temperature Aramid Rope - for Lifting, Wear Resistant, 3/16" Diameter, 550 lb. Lifting Capacity.

SeaSonde - Model EHD500 - External Hard Disk FireLite

An external hard disk is recommended for use at each SeaSonde Remote Unit and SeaSonde Central Management / Data Combining Station. These external hard drives can provide automatic data backup and are conveniently field swappable. External Hard Disk is intended for indoor use only.

RiverSonde

RiverSonde - River Monitoring System

The RiverSonde is an affordable, non-contact monitoring system providing continuous surface velocity measurements for streams, channels, and rivers. Data output from this system can be used in conjunction with other data sets or as model input for calculation of discharge. It is also ideal for monitoring river movement during flood events and in disaster planning. This system is designed for operation at river`s edge, in populated or remote locations. Robust hardware and software allow automated operation and data processing, even under extreme weather and/or vessel traffic conditions when other in-situ devices routinely fail. Development began at CODAR Ocean Sensors in 1999 with funding from the US Geological Survey (USGS), whose aim was to see a non-contact alternative to present stream gauging methods. The RiverSonde is now commercially available.
