Cofra has started with the application of Geotextile Encased Columns when former Mobius sections, in the past the market leader in the installation of GEC, were acquired by our parent company Boskalis. Due to our strong relationship with Huesker Cofra has become one of their preferred installers to install the GEC columns on every location in the world.

Stone columns are widely used as ground improvement method for unsuitable soils to improve its bearing capacity and limit settlements. Cofra was one of the pioneers in the field of piled embankments and has installed piled embankment for over 15 years. For the cases where our consolidation or other element solutions may not provide the desired results in term of embankment construction or residual settlement Cofra has developed the AuGeo piled embankment system to deliver settlement-free road construction platforms in a very short period of time. Due to the installation method of the AuGeo pile using a static downward force, without vibrations, it is guaranteed that each pile has a predetermined load-bearing capacity.
