DOD Services

CEI provides an array of civil engineering and environmental services to assist DOD facilities with base operating support tasks. Our experience in the trenches with every environmental regulation gives you an edge in containing your costs and time spent dealing with the minefield of permitting protocols and complicated compliance guidelines. We know the environmental field better than anyone, and we can help you plan strategy and tactics for cost-effective, mission driven environmental compliance. CEI has provided a number of unique specialty services to our DOD clients.

DPW Services

CEI understands the complex needs, challenges, staff and budget issues that DPWs face on a daily basis. For over 25 years, CEI has supported DPWs with comprehensive engineering and environmental services including planning, engineering and construction services.

Facilities & Environmental Compliance Services

Due to recent spills and poorly written emergency response plans, facilities are under fire with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) specifically targeting compliance. CEI can assist facilities with audit and emergency planning services. Generic ‘cut and paste’ emergency plans are a huge liability. Our plans are never generic and are created with the user in mind. We focus on creating concise, user friendly, readily implemented plans that comply with federal EPA and state environmental regulations.

Flood Management Services

Flooding is on the rise as storms get more intense, with greater damage and more road closings on the horizon. CEI`s Certified Floodplain Managers (CFMs) are here to help. Our CFMs have a working knowledge of flood studies and maps, National Flood Insurance Program rules and regulations, regulatory standards, ordinance administration, hazard mitigation and funding, and natural/beneficial floodplain functions. Combined with specialized experience in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, stormwater, drainage and water quality issues, CEI`s staff is uniquely qualified to solve your flooding issues.

Geotechnical Engineering Services

CEI personnel have specific expertise in comprehensive aspects of geotechnical engineering and geohydrological investigations. The range of services includes all types of subsurface investigations from soil borings, geoprobe drilling, seismic and magnetic investigations to open pit excavations. Our team is well versed in all types of in-situ and laboratory soil testing to establish material properties used in recommendations for foundation design, and site development.

Hazardous Waste Assessment & Remediation Services

CEI has been working in hazardous waste remediation since the firm`s inception in the late 1980s. Over that time, CEI has distinguished itself by providing no-nonsense engineering and remediation services that focus on rapid, thorough cleanups and cost minimization. Our objective is to make the work as painless as possible for the client, both monetarily and in time. We have closed out/cleaned up sites dealing with a wide variety of media (e.g., soil, surface waters/wetlands, groundwater, vapor intrusion) and pollutants including oils, heavy metals, asbestos, volatile organic compounds, PCBs, perchlorate, uranium and a variety of other problems.

Lakes & Rivers Services

Our philosophy is that watershed management studies and plans should not be reports collecting dust – they should be a user-friendly guide on how to manage your resource – whether it’s for protection or restoration – a good study always has equally as good recommendations that are feasible, implementable and goal oriented. CEI understands the need for results.

Parks & Recreation Services

Keeping Parks and Recreational Playgrounds Safe; Did you know there are over 200,000 injuries on public playgrounds each year throughout the U.S. that require trips to the emergency room? An inspection by a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) trained to recognize and prevent potential playground hazards can reduce your exposure and prevent some of these accidents. CPSI’s are knowledgeable in the areas of Hazard Identification, Protective Surfacing, Playground Environment, Inspection and Maintenance, and Risk Management. They understand current standards and guidelines, are competent with testing and auditing tools, and adhere to the CPSI Code of Professional Practice.
