Tank recertification is a cost effective and environmentally conscious alternative to the purchase of a new double-wall tank in certain applications. If a tank is removed from an installation, moved to owner’s new location and is intended for active service at the new location, the tank must be recertified by CSI in order to maintain the existing warranty as originally extended. In certain circumstances CSI can recertify a tank if the owner is interested in changing the fluid being stored.

CSI can provide cleanout of your existing OWS in the field to maximize effluent discharge levels and maintain performance of the OWS. Our technicians are OSHA 40-hour trained including confined space entry training and have experience in chemical tanks service.

As the fuel storage market continues to evolve, capacity continues to expand. The typical site used to store 10,000 – 20,000 gallons but now average c-stores are being designed with 40,000 – 60,000 gallons using fiberglass tanks with multiple compartments in each. This gives the site owner the flexibility to offer a combination of fuels and fluids including diesel, additives, biofuels, even DEF (diesel exhaust fluid).

Some UST regulations require all components of the UST system to be “product tight” and be periodically tested for tightness. Studies funded by the state of California determined between 25% and 50% of underground tank sumps were leaking. If your tank sumps require upgrading, consider using CSI Field Service technicians on your next job. Our technicians are experienced in the field of FRP and carry proper OSHA training for confined space entry.
