Additives for Corrosion Inhibiting Fluids
Cortec - Corrosion Inhibitor For Copper
M-235 is a proven corrosion inhibitor for copper, copper-based alloys and other yellow metals. M-235 functions by reacting with surface copper oxides to form a strong, insoluble polymeric complex.
Cortec - Anticorrosion Additive
Anticorrosion additive to the oils for protection of yellow metals. Conforms to specification for transformer oil.
Cortec - Solvent-Based Blend Additive
M-238 is a solvent-based blend of contact and vapor phase inhibitors designed as an additive to aromatic, paraffinic, naphthenic, fluorocarbon and hydrocarbon-based products.
Additives for Plastics, Adhesives and Elastomers
Cortec - Corrosion Inhibitor Additive
Cortec M-138 is a VpCI corrosion inhibitor additive for rubber and sealants. It can be used to protect metal parts in contact with or in close proximity to rubber rollers, gaskets, or manufactured parts. M-138 replaces the use of environmentally unfriendly coatings or expensive alloys in addressing the tendency of elastomers to corrode metal parts.
Cortec - Multi Metal Organic Corrosion Inhibitor Additive
M-435 is a multi metal organic corrosion inhibitor additive for water and solvent-based paints, sealers, adhesives, fluids and more. It is silicone and surfactant-free and can be introduced to formulations at virtually any step of production. M-435 incorporates Cortec’s proven VpCI® technology for protecting metals ranging from steel to copper and most other commonly used metals. It has been designed for easy blending into the production process without unnecessary risks to personnel, equipment, or other manufacturing compounds.
Additives for Paint and Coatings
Cortec - Water Based Additives- Flash Rust Inhibitors
M-380 is a water-based corrosion inhibitor that is designed to be used with carboxylated acrylic or styrene-acrylic latices. M-380 provides corrosion inhibition to ferrous and non-ferrous surfaces. M-380 should be mixed before use although no settling is anticipated. The recommended starting levels for M-380 should be 1% to 3% based on the total weight of the formulation.

Cortec - Vapor Phase Corrosion Inhibitor Powder
Cortec’s Boiler Lizard contains Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor powder in a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) water-soluble bag. The powder formulation is free of phosphates, heavy metals, nitrites, and free amines. Designed for dry layup of boilers, the Boiler Lizard protects metals in enclosed spaces. The VpCIs vaporize and adsorb on the metal surfaces, reaching all recessed areas and interior cavities.
Cortec - Cooling Loop Gator Powder
Cortec’s Cooling Loop Gator is a Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI) powder packaged in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) water-soluble bags. Developed for seasonal, short-term, or long term layup, Cooling Loop Gator protects enclosed spaces for up to 12 months. Once the bag and powder dissolve, the Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors adsorb on all metal surfaces, reaching recessed areas and interior cavities. The VpCI inhibitors form a strong molecular layer on the metal that protects in both the liquid and vapor phase.
Cortec - Cooling Tower Frog Powder
Cortec`s Cooling Tower Frog is a Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) powder packaged in polyvinyl-alcohol (PVA) water-soluble bags. It is specially developed for dry lay-up of cooling towers for seasonal, short or long-term lay-up. Cooling Tower Frog® is effective up to 12 months. This product offers an extremely efficient method of protecting multimetal in enclosed spaces. When the bag is cut open, the VCIs vaporize and adsorb on all metal surfaces - reaching even recessed areas and interior cavities. The VCIs form a strong, self-replenishing, protective, molecular layer on the metal. Designed for ease of application, Cooling Tower Frog® enables an easy start-up.
Cortec - Multifunctional Inhibitor Pouch
Cor-Pak 1-MUL/8-MUL Pouches contain Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors (VpCI) powder and provide corrosion protection for ferrous and non-ferrous materials within a package. The VpCI vaporizes, escapes through the pouch’s breathable Tyvek* membrane, and then adsorbs on all metal surfaces in the enclosure, forming a protective corrosion inhibiting molecular layer. Cor-Pak 1-MUL Pouches are approved for military use under NSN# 6850-01-470-2737.
