Cronin Environmental services

Using the TCR Isostack automatic sampling system Cronin Environmental can carry out Iso-Kinetic sampling to meet the requirements of the EPA and ISO 9096 standards. The automatic sampler enables Cronin Environmental to sample for: Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), Metals, Chlorides and Fluorides, PM10, Dioxins, Particulates.

Cronin Environmental offer the service of duct flow analysis which includes the measurement of velocity, velocity profiles, duct gas temperatures, duct pressure, volumes and mass flowrates. Reports issued satisfy the EPA licensing regulations. The reports are generally issued to our clients within three working days of the sampling programme.

Cronin Environmental offer the service of flue gas analysis using the Land combustion flue gas analyser. This instrument is a complete mobile unit. Measurements include: Temperature: CO₂, O₂: NO_X, CO: SO_X.

Noise is a topic that most managers in industry now have to contend with. This is reflected more so in the number of noise monitoring programmes in place to meet the demands of the regulatory authorities. The EPA have enforced strict new guidelines in relation to Environmental Noise. Cronin Environmental offer the service of noise level monitoring using a Quest 2900 integrating sound level meter. All reports comply with the EPA requirements and include SEL, Leq(T), Max & Min, LNx, Peak and LDN.

Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 1995, a safety and health plan is required if the construction project is to last longer than 30 working days, the volume of work at construction stage is scheduled to exceed 500 person days or the work involves a particular risk to safety and health. Cronin Environmental offer the service of preparing both preliminary Safety and Health plans at the design stage and the Safety and Health Plan for the construction stage of the project.

Cronin Environmental offer the service of personal sampling to determine the exposure of a worker to airborne contaminants. We can sample for dusts, fibres, fumes and mists, toxic vapours, aerosols and gases. The sampling device is positioned in the breathing zone of the worker where the air is representative of that which the worker is breathing. Personal sampling is carried out under the methods laid down by NIOSH/OSHA and the results are compared with the specified occupational exposure limits.

Asbestos is the name for a group of fibres which are strong and both heat and chemically resistant. Breathing air containing asbestos can lead to cancer of the lungs and chest. The use of asbestos is now banned, however large quantities of asbestos can still be found in older buildings. Cronin Environmental offer the service of monitoring for asbestos using a sampling cowl and portable pump.
