Crosstex manufactures Biological Indicators (BIs) for use in monitoring Chlorine Dioxide sterilization processes. Our BIs are manufactured using precise care, which provides assurance that each pouch contains a biological indicator consistent in population and purity.

Reliable, Powerful Formulation – Protease enzyme breaks down (digests) organic soils such as blood, tissue and protein rich fluids, while the detergent removes them, holding them in suspension and avoiding the redepositing on the cleaned surfaces of instrument. Cost Effective and Safe – Highly concentrated, low-foaming, biodegradable, phosphate-free, rust-inhibiting properties with a neutral pH. Color/Scent – Green/Fresh Scent. Usage – Dilute ½ to 2 oz per gallon of water (depending upon debris level). Manual Soak Time – 2 to 3 min (15 to 20 min for heavy debris).

The STEAMPlus^™ does not replace the routine use of a biological indicator. Also available attached to a 3” x 5” Tray Record Card to allow for a permanent physical record of the sterilization cycle.

Indicator tapes provide immediate identification of processed items while also securing sterilization packs. The chemical indicator lines will show a visual color change from beige to dark brown/black when exposed to the steam sterilization process.

Test strips may be used to verify adequate levels (higher than 0.5 ppm) of iodine release. These tests strips are only to be used to determine the level of IODINE present in Dental Unit Waterlines (DUWL’s), and cannot be used to measure the presence of Colony Forming Units (CFU’s). Crosstex recommends checking the iodine level at 11 months, or as you approach 240L of water, to ensure that the iodine output has not fallen below 0.5ppm – particularly if you have a very busy practice.
