Screening - Screw Screens

CST - Screen Compactors and Screen Extractors

The Screen Extractor comes without the pressing section. The special design and structural simplicity of the Screen Compactor and Screen.  Throughput rates up to 1000 m³/h.

CST - Screw Compactors

The Screw Compactor, has combined into one unit a system for mechanical transportation, de-watering and compressing. In this way the screening volume is greatly reduced. The structural and functional simplicity of the compactor design in the form of shaftless flighting, allows for the absence of internal supports and minimum maintenance. The clever design of this equipment allows it to be used in many fields. A sieve following the spiral end of the screw coupled with a discharge closure unit creates the dewatering and compressing action of the screenings. The liquid is pressed out through a specially designed tube. The machine is designed for intermittent working.

Screening - Rotary Drums

CST - In-Channel Rotary Drum Screens

We offer a full range of in-channel Rotary Drum Screens. CST has sold in-channel Rotary Drum Screens since 1988. Most of our in-channel Rotary Drum Screens are in raw sewage or in paper mills. These have low head losses in the order of 200 mm and high capacities.

CST - Rotary Drums Screens

CST supplies a range of internally fed Rotary Drum Screens. Our screens consist of a wedgewire drum inside which is an internal feed tank. Flow passes into the internal feed tank and overflows the weir. The internal feed tank has the function of controlling velocities and reducing the force of the flow onto the wedgewire drum.

Grit Removal

Pista - Grit Chamber

CST is the Australian Representative Office for Smith & Loveless. The prevailing method of grit removal globally is the vortex grit chamber – the PISTA® unit. Smith & Loveless research and development engineers have dramatically improved the original PISTA®Grit Chamber design. This has led to several patents on the design by Smith & Loveless, including a flat bottom in the grit removal chamber, an inlet baffle with a coanda ramp and redesigned rotating propellor, all of which work together to enhance flow conditions. There are close to 2000 PISTA® Systems installed worldwide and Smith & Loveless is the world leader in this technology.

CST - Grit and Sand Classifier

The SC Grit Classifier is a stand alone unit designed to remove small particulate solids, grit, sand and fines from waste water elevating and de-watering the solids prior to disposal. It is fed either by an air lift pump, pump or pump and cyclone washer/concentrator. Grit laden water is fed via the flanged inlet of the integral decanting hopper where the solids are allowed to settle out. Special baffle plates and inlet/outlet arrangements can be used to remove any remaining floating matter. The settled solids are removed from the hopper by a low speed conveying screw. Once elevated above the unit’s water level, the solids are further de-watered and transferred to a convenient discharge height.

CST - Grit Washing Unit

The unit can perform both grit classifying and grit washing. The mixture water, grit and organic enters by a vortex type inlet imposing to the particles a rotating velocity. While entering the settling tank that velocity must deflect.

Dissolved Air Flotation

CST - Dissolved Air Flotation System (DAF)

CST-DAF is a high rate DAF flotation unit. Unprecedented clarification and thickening efficiency is attained by the new hydro direct system combined with the unique micro-bubble screening system: a recent exclusive break-through innovation developed by Aqua Engineering. A truly new system of Dissolved Air Flotation

Clarifiers

CST - Lamella Plate System

Plate settlers have been around for over a century, an English patent is dated back to 1886 and French design back to 1887. During the 1930’s, plate settlers were used in mining and mineral industries to separate out heavy particles. In the late fifties, Professor Gunnar Weijman-Hane began a study at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. This led to the modern plate settler technology and the GEWE lamella sedimentation system. This system has been further developed, utilising computer design, achieving almost total efficiency in the use of plates with hydraulic flow control and high efficiency of separation

CST - Clarifiers and Thickeners

A complete range of Clarifiers including: Central driven clarifiers for circular or square bottom basins. Peripheral drive clarifiers for circular basin. Suction arm clarifiers. Clarifiers for rectangular tanks with travelling bridge or hydraulically operated type. Reactor Clarifiers.
