Cumberland Electrochemical Limited products
Panclor - Electrochemical Cell Tubular System
Cumberland has been at the forefront of electrochemical cell design for over 50 years. From our original and unique ‘Rotaclor’ cells, many of which are still in operation after 20 years of life, to our tubular system known as ‘ElChlor’ and through to initial launch of the PANCLOR™ system in 1989, Cumberland have invested heavily in research and development and product improvement programmes culminating in the new generation of PANCLOR electrolysers and systems.
Elchlor - Electrochemical Cell Tubular System
Cumberland’s ELCHLOR cells have been specifically designed for off shore and marine applications where acid cleaning of plate type electrolysers is undesirable. In the ELCHLOR™ cell the tubular anode and cathode are mounted concentrically in a uniquely simple construction. The salt water passes through the annular gap between the electrodes where electrolysis takes place. This annular path produces a uniform velocity flow and promotes conditions which prevent the build up of salt deposition in the cells. ELCHLOR™ is a once through process and cells are arranged in series and parallel streams in order to meet capacity requirements. All ELCHLOR™ systems are factory assembled and tested in accordance with rigorous QA protocols to ensure that installation and commissioning at site is a simple process.
Natchlor - Seawater Analysis System
Cumberland’s NATCHLOR cells and systems are designed specifically for operation on artificial brine sources, i.e. food grade salt. These products and process are used extensively on potable water applications where the requirement for minimisation of disinfection by products (DBP’s) is paramount.
C-TREAT - Ballast Water Treatment System
The most commonly occurring method of Global transfer of non indigenous species has been found to be transfer through shipping industry ballast water. The resulting ecological and economical damage has been enormous and resulted in whole new market for Cumberland traditional disinfection technologies.
Cumberland - Off Shore and Shipboard Systems
Cumberland offer a standard and custom range of non-acid cleaning electrochlorination products based on our ELCHLOR™ tubular cell technology. On offshore and other marine vessel applications the need for safety is paramount and the removal of acid from the operation requirement is considered a significant health and safety benefit in offshore and marine applications.
Cumberland - Standard Plant - Brine Systems
Cumberland has designed and produces a range of standard plant systems for the onsite production of sodium hypochlorite from artificial brine solution. The products are all manufactured in the UK and carry the European CE mark. As standard systems the cost of these units is lower than custom engineered plant but they are to Cumberland standards and are not available for custom engineered projects. The range includes the MiniClor, MidiClor and MaxiClor systems with an active equivalent chlorine production rate from 1 kg/day to 680 kg/day. Larger production rates can be achieved by combining standard units.
