The D&H Horizontal Mixing Chamber is an innovative solution to mixing asphalt, rubber, polymer, or any dry powder. It effectively inline blends both small batches to continuous large-scale production. The D&H design advantage includes greater consistency than high speed impellor mixing tanks and less air injection than vortex mixing systems, while providing enhanced assurance of complete coating.

If you are currently producing PMA (polymer-modified asphalt), D&H would like to help you produce faster and more efficiently. Rather than milling and remilling over several passes, our process offers a solution that provides proven inline mixing and one-pass milling capabilities. Our years of experience in building asphalt blending/modifying equipment helped us design this process for blending and milling polymers into asphalt.

Shop-built steel storage tanks for asphalt/bitumen, asphalt emulsions, and water storage. Don’t overpay for steel storage tanks – D&H builds every tank to meet our customer’s specifications and needs. D&H Equipment is capable of supplying API 650 and UL 142 tanks designs up to 34,000 gallons. We also supply prefabricated field piping/valving to complete your project while reducing field-installation time and costs.

Specialized tanks for reacting rubberized asphalts. Reaction tanks are needed in the production of asphalt rubber and many other rubber-modified asphalt products. After passing through a blending system, the product is stored and reacted inside the tank (typically for 30 minutes up to 1 hour). Aggressive agitation inside the tank promotes a uniform reaction, ensures the particles remains suspended, and produces a consistent blend. During this time, the rubber particles swell as they absorb some of the asphaltenes while simultaneously releasing some of their lighter oils into the asphalt – this reaction provides the many beneficial properties associated with this modified asphalt.

Specialized tanks for processing and producing polymer-modified asphalts. Concentrate blending tanks promote polymer digestion into the asphalt. Utilization of polymer concentrate tanks allow: higher production through product letdown procedures, decreased dilution times, and the production of multiple product grades through inline blending.

D&H Equipment also manufactures batch mixing tanks, fog seal storage tanks, emulsion storage tanks, as well as custom tank and agitation solutions. These shop build specialized tanks can be anywhere from a couple hundred gallons to over 30,000 gallons.

D&H Equipment fabricates helical hot oil heaters for the asphalt industry. Our redesigned second-generation heaters are designed to be simple, efficient and made right here in our Blanco, Texas facility. D&H offers four heater sizes ranging from 1 to 4 million BTU/hour output. The design and components are rated up to 550 degrees F for more heat transfer and for faster heat when needed. Our heaters can be designed for single or multiple circuit operation.
