Daikin America, Inc. products
Fluoropolymers
Daikin - Molding Powders
Daikin PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) has the highest melting point and lowest friction, and is the most inert of all the fluoropolymers. It has a continuous service temperature rating of 260 Deg C (500 deg F). Molding powders are excellent, fine cut granular resins, well suited for a variety of demanding chemical, mechanical, electrical and non-stick surface applications. Molding powders are available in homopolymer and modified grades. Typical applications include thin skived film for electronic parts, laboratory equipment, gaskets, diaphragms, O-rings, slide bearings, V-rings, pump parts, seals, sheet lining, mold release films, filled compounds, bellows, impellers, containers and high purity bags.
Fluoroelastomers
Daikin DAI-EL - Bisphenol Curable Copolymers
DAI-EL G-701 is a cure-incorporated copolymer with medium Mooney viscosity. It is designed especially for compression molding of o-rings and other applications that require good heat resistance and compression set.
Daikin - Bisphenol Curable Copolymers
Daikin bisphenol curable copolymers are copolymers of hexafluoropropylene and vinyldene fluoride, having 66% fluorine content, and contain a bisphenol curing agent and an accelerator. These products exhibit the best heat resistance and lowest compression set among the DAI-EL family. They are particularly suited for O-ring and oil seal applications in high-heat environments. Daikin offers injection and compression molding grades (low and medium viscosity), extrusion grade, metal adhesion grade, and compression set resistant grades. Daikin’s newest bisphenol curable copolymer, G-7000, has exceptional performance and processing characteristics.
Repellents and Surface Modifiers
UNIDYNE - Water and Oil Repellent for Nonwovens
Imparts excellent hydrostatic head pressure performance especially for spunlace nonwovens which include cellulosic fibers. Compatible with most textile and nonwoven additives.
Fluoropolymer Varnish
ZEFFLE - Fluoropolymer Resin
ZEFFLE varnishes are used in a wide range of architectural and industrial paint and coating applications including coil coatings, anti-corrosion coatings, buildings, bridges, storage tanks, and virtually any structure or surface. ZEFFLE is also widely used in the production of photovoltaic (PV) panels, where coatings formulated with ZEFFLE are used to protect polyester backsheets. ZEFFLE can be formulated to achieve the severe weathering and damp heat test requirements necessary to meet IEC standards for PV panels, yet also allow for excellent junction box adhesion to the backsheet exterior surface. ZEFFLE varnishes are formulated for shop painting (coil coating, spray booth) or for field applied coatings. ZEFFLE coatings can be applied as a clear coat or they can be formulated in bright, vibrant colors.
Coating Powders and Polymer Additives
Daikin - Powders and Dispersion Coatings
Daikin provides FEP as a dry powder for electrostic powder coating, and as a liquid dispersion for liquid coating and for impregnation of a variety of media. FEP coatings impart a smooth, chemically resistant and inert surface for uses in the chemical processing industry, cookware, and other demanding applications.
Daikin - Coatings
DAIKIN ETFE Powder has high chemical resistance and inertness. ETFE powder coating also has high mechanical strength and stiffness. It ranks highest in terms of abrasion resistance compared to PTFE, FEP, and PFA. ETFE coatings show tolerance to continuous temperature of low -100 degrees C to high 150 degrees C.
Daikin - Powders and Dispersion Coatings
Daikin PFA Powder and dispersion coatings have extremely high temperature resistance as well as excellent surface release properties. They are used in consumer and institutional bakeware and as release coatings on conveyors used in automated cooking and baking processes. PFA coatings are also used in semiconductor high purity chemical storage and handling equipment, as well as vessels and piping for the chemical process industry.
Refrigerant Gas
Daikin - Refrigerant Gas
Daikin HFC-134a is characterized by low toxicity, and excellent thermal stability. Mainly used as a refrigerant in applications that include automotive air conditioning, commercial air conditioning and refrigeration, domestic appliances and as a retrofit product for existing R-12 systems. Additionally, HFC-134a is used as a plastics and foam blowing agent, propellant, and medical propellant. HFC-134a falls under US EPA SNAP and is currently scheduled as no longer acceptable for certain end uses in the U.S. for new equipment; such as Automotive. HFC-134a is unrestricted for service and maintenance purposes. Please refer to US EPA SNAP for most up to date rulings and decisions (https://www.epa.gov/snap).
Daikin - Refrigerant
Daikin R-407C is characterized by low toxicity, highest efficiency amongst alternatives, and excellent thermal stability. Mainly used as a refrigerant for domestic and commercial air conditioning and heat pump applications. It can also be used for low and medium temperature refrigeration applications.
