Pre-shredders are generally installed upstream from a shredding system to prepare the material for entry into the shredder. Adding a pre-shredder to the metals process allows the operator to control the feed rate, leading to a more uniform flow of material through the shredder itself, and a higher density product. With their first-rate tooth profile and very high torque, Danieli Centro Recycling pre-shredders are truly essential for processing waste metal such as end-of-life vehicles, domestic waste, WEEE, etc. in bulk or baled form.

Used to process secondary aluminium material not suitable to be charged straight into the melting furnace, shredding brings material into size and density specification while the downstream equipment cleans the material, removing contaminants and fines material that would not be handled in the furnace. Danieli shredders can be installed in-line with decoating and melting furnaces to minimize material handling and reduce material stocking into the plant.

Versatility and flexibility are the hallmarks of the CIV range! Scrap shears with press wings are designed to give the customer full control over their operation – either reducing your scrap metal to obtain a bale, or shearing it. The range is designed to suit every size of operation, from a one-piece portable shear complying with EEC road regulations to fixed, heavy shears. With such versatility, in a single day you can process ELVs (end-of-life vehicles) to make bales, the ideal shape for transporting waste, and also shear metal profiles into short sections to go directly into an electric arc furnace (EAF).

The heavyweight champions: Danieli Henschel scrap shears with lateral pre-compression box come in six box/reducer combinations: two- or three-level box, one- or two-part lid, parallel- or variable-entry-angle reducer! We are one of the only makers of CIB-type hydraulic scrap shears able to provide a lateral pre-compression box that can travel parallel to the pusher ram or at a variable entry angle. This versatility is a definite asset when the operator comes up against a crush-resistant piece of scrap metal. By approaching the material off-axis, the reducer will compress the material on a smaller surface, increasing the pressure on the piece of scrap metal. The CIB range is ideal for processing heavy and bulky scrap metal, where high densification and productivity are required.

The perfect scrap shears to reduce the cost per sheared ton! Many of our customers agree that the design of our CIC scrap shears makes them the most suitable type for the scrap metal processing and recycling industry. For one thing, the feed chute can accept any type of scrap metal at any time, no matter what the length (up to 14 m). Because the chute is tilted, the loading height of the scrap shears is the lowest on the market.

Danieli Centro Recycling horizontally operating COMPACT shears have been developed as a complement to traditional shears, with pre-compression boxes and continuously operating shears. Scrap is deposited into the loading box continually throughout the shearing cycle. The product to be treated is compressed by the stepped presser moving forwards. In the case of bulky products, several movements of the presser are necessary before the shearing phase itself starts. During each presser cycle, the compressed material falls by gravity into lower levels, then into the shearing chamber.
