DantoBES – Bentonite Enhanced Sand - is a specially designed sand which has been enhanced with bentonite powder to
make it low permeable. Factory-mixed DantoBES is a ready-to-use product for situations where you need to establish a robust seal. Working with the BES mix is quick and easy. It just has to be compacted to make it waterproof – and the harder it’s compacted, the better the seal.

With a DantoCrude membrane, the low-permeability layer is dense and extremely robust. The structure of a membrane may comprise many different materials and layers, but it is only the impermeable element of all these layers that retains water and contaminants. All things being equal, a dense low-permeability layer is more watertight and robust than a thin low-permeability layer.

Correctly mixing bentonite powder with sand or stone dust gives you a low-permeability material that is perfect for creating a wide range of membranes. This is often referred to as a BES (Bentonite Enhanced Soil) mix.

The Danish coastline is under pressure in several places, and on the central part of the West Coast in Jutland, waves from the North Sea are making serious inroads into the country. But coastal erosion, increased water levels and storm surges are not just a challenge along the west coast of Jutland. The whole country is being affected, and it will only be reinforced by more severe weather and increased water levels as a result of climate change.

The products contain cement that has undergone an anti-chrome-eczema process. This ensures compliance with the EU`s required maximum value for soluble chrome (VI) in cement of 2 mg/kg for a minimum of 2 months under normal, dry storage conditions. The products may be stored for 6 months.

DantoPlug is a series of bentonite pellets designed to plug and seal off boreholes. The pellets are made exclusively from high qualitative Danish bentonite and certified according to the strictest European environmental certification as an environmentally friendly and safe product. These pellets can completely and permanently seal a borehole and ensure that different groundwater layers are kept separated from each other. They are outstanding in difficult situations where groundwater flow rules out the use of lower swelling pellets of lesser quality, due to such pellets inability to uphold the bond to the surrounding underground.

DantoPlug is a series of bentonite pellets designed to plug and seal off boreholes. DantoPlug Super M contains magnetite to make the pellets traceable.

When sealing with DantoPlug bentonite pellets, you get the crucial advantage that the bentonite only really expands once it is in place down inside the borehole. At this point, the extremely dense material expands into any crevices and gaps that may exist in the borehole. The material’s ability to absorb water and swell remains unchanged over time. It is permanent, and the swelling capacity is many times greater than the volume of the void to be filled in order to create a seal.
