The critical aspects are selection of where the tower is to be placed, selection and calibration of anemometers, the height of the met mast and the installation of the sensors on the met mast. Complementing the wind farm micrositing services, DEWI also offers due diligence, which is a thorough analysis of the complete wind farm project including all planning, financing, building permit and contract documents in order to minimise the project risk for investors, developers and owners. Any further measurements or optimisations resulting from this independent analysis will reduce the uncertainties and so improve the chances of success of the wind farm project.

Calibrated anemometers are essential for accurate wind speed and power curve measurements, and each one must be individually calibrated prior to a measurement campaign. As an accredited service, DEWI offers calibration to the MEASNET standard. Wind vane testing is also advisable, and can be performed by our experts.
