This ensures that they are easily adapted to product characteristics, and the appropriate docking systems can be selected, whether the material is non- potent or highly active. Similarly, depending on powder flow, specific massaging or delumping units mounted on load cells can be provided, thereby guaranteeing precise dosing.

Powderflex - Model PFL - Powder Dosing System for Continuous Conveying
ThePFL Powderflex*provides continuous and precise dosing and conveying of small to medium quantities of powder, whether the requirement is for the controlled charging of powders into continuous production processes or for predetermined precision dosing. The system comprises two small, calibrated chambers, each equipped with a flat filter in the upper part. A practically continuous powder flow or precise volumetric dosing is generated through a unique valve system, plus the combined effect of vacuum and pressure, which makes it possible to alternate, at high frequency, between filling and emptying the chambers. The transfer rate is easily adjusted by adapting the volume of the chamber or changing the frequency.

PTS Batchmixer - Industrial Powder Mixing System
PTS Batchmixer® allows to mix powders with different characteristics in a contained environment while reducing overall process times compared to traditional systems. With industrial applications from 2 to 6000 liters, the system also enables the operator to vary product volumes from 10 to 100 %. The system is particularly appropriate for pharmaceutical applications where active substances must be handled without contamination or changes to physical properties. This easily integrated system has a main container with an integrated central deflector and a PTS with two tangential inlets on top. The powders are automatically introduced by the PTS and circulated within the container for a predefined period of time. The deflector ensures homogeneous distribution of the mixture.
PTS Batchmixer - Sterile Powder Process System for Batch Mixing
PTS Batchmixer® is usually integrated in a process line in a closed way by flexible lines and doesn’t require any disconnection during the operation. The system will be cleaned and sterilized in line with the upstream and downstream equipment. PTS Batchmixer® is designed according to the latest cGMP requirements without internal parts or inaccessible areas allowing the system to be sanitized or sterilized with either 90°C hot water or steam. The system is equipped with various temperature probes for temperature mapping as well as a steam trap valve at the lowest part of the mixer. The vessel is insulated to prevent a direct contact with the vessel wall and keeping heat loss as low as possible.
Big Bag Discharge
Big Bag Emptying Stations
The big bag emptying stations of Dec are based on a modular design. This allows to be ideally equipped with systems for each product’s characteristics with corresponding docking systems for non-potent to highly active powders. Depending on the product flow, there is a range of discharge devices or lump breakers available. With the use of load cells, it is possible to dose accurately into the receptacle. A simple connection head with double tube and a two hand lever mechanism ensures that the big bag outlet spout has a dust tight connection.
Top Discharge Station for Big Bag Emptying
Partial emptying of big bags is a challenge as it is usually not feasible to quickly re-close the big bag when the discharge spout is full of product. Iris valves or similar devices could be used for this purpose, but product must be flowing in order to have the possibility to re-seal the spout which prevents any accurate dosing. Dec has solved this problem by developing an automated discharge station where big bags are emptied from the top by using a suction lance connected to the PTS Powder Transfer System.
