Tank Inspections Services

We perform tank inspections which meet or exceed the requirements established in API-653. Our inspectors are trained and certified in the latest technologies for testing above ground vessels to provide full service tank inspections to the storage tank industry.

External Tank Inspections Services

Complete inspection following API-653 In-Service inspection checklist. Thickness reading on shell plates. Thickness reading on roof plates. Visual inspection with photographs and/or a record of any visible defects. Thickness reading on all accessible nozzles. Shell layout drawings. Nozzle layout drawings. Layout of defects. Settlement survey. Post inspection meeting to discuss findings. Recommendations and/or observations. Summary of inspection findings. Final formal report.

Internal Tank Inspections Services

Complete inspection following API-653 Out-of Service inspection checklist. Minimum of three thickness readings per each course per drop. Minimum of five thickness readings per each full roof plate. Minimum of five thickness readings per each full bottom plate. Vacuum box testing of all bottom lap welds and shell to bottom welds (corner welds). Magnetic particle test nozzle welds and bottom-to-shell weld (or corner box) if tank is properly prepared. Visual inspection with photographs and/or record of any visible defects. Thickness reading for all accessible nozzles. Shell layout drawings. Roof layout drawings. Bottom layout drawings. Nozzle layout drawings. Bottom settlement survey. Post inspection meeting to discuss findings. Recommendations and/or observations. Summary of inspection findings. Final formal report.

Magnetic Flux Leakage Evaluation Services

In an effort to provide our clients with the most accurate data possible about their tanks, DJA Inspection Services incorporates MFL (Magnetic Flux Leakage Evaluation) tank floor scanners. Our scanners use the principle of magnetic flux leakage to detect topside and underside pitting of steel tank bottoms.
