The modular PCS expanding core chuck system offers unparalleled precision and versatility in high speed or high tension shaftless unwinding and rewinding applications where little or no variation in web tension or web position can be tolerated. PCS Core Chucks are Pneumatic Core Chucks that expand with pressurized air. PCS Core Chucks provide superior roll/core gripping abilities with a high capacity actuating design. The PCS “Base” expansion chuck allows you to easily put on larger core adapters so you can run different size cores on the same machine. Custom core chuck designs available - PCS Core chucks are ideal for new or rebuild unwind and rewind stand applications. Automatic Concentric Expansion: As the torque chuck expands to grip a core, it automatically lifts and centers the roll, eliminating roll bounce and vibration. No Lubrication ~ Minimal Maintenance: Little dust accumulation in the chuck means no jamming and easy removal of cores. No Sidearm Force Needed from the Roll Stand, Multiple Core Re-Use, Elimination of End-of-Roll Waste: The DF-2000 chuck grips harder as more torque is applied. Other chucks rely on sidearm force from the roll stand to push the gripping elements into the core wall. These chucks damage the core and waste material at the end of the roll.
