Dunelm Geotechnical and Environmental are experienced in a large range of geotechnical investigations ranging from small-scale residential developments to large commercial and industrial developments; these investigations are essential to assess the physical properties of the underlying soils and rock. Dunelm staff have experience in numerous geotechnical areas including road and railway work, pipelines, sewers, earthworks projects, slope stability, tunnelling and treatment and assessment of shallow mine workings. With increased brownfield developments and pressure to provide cost effective solutions it is important to carry out a thorough geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigation to ensure the best practical solution is adopted. Dunelm work closely with clients to provide solutions for all aspects of foundation design, earthworks design, soil mechanics, highways and drainage design parameters, slope stability assessment.
Dunelm - Geoenvironmental Investigation Service
Through working closely with our clients Dunelm provides site characterisation and assessment for clients across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.
Dunelm - Laboratory Services
Dunelm have their own in-house geotechnical laboratory facility allowing a quick turnaround for test results. The laboratory is equipped with a range of equipment to carry out the following tests specified to BS1377:1990 “Methods of Tests for Soils for Engineering Purposes”.
Dunelm - Phase 1 Site Investigation/Desk Study Services
Phase 1 Site Investigation or desk study is usually undertaken at the start of the site investigation process. This allow for information to be gathered to help characterise a site and to assist in the development of the Phase 2 Intrusive investigation.
Dunelm - Mining Risk Assessment Service
Dunelm have a long experience and significant expertise in carrying out Coal Mining Risk Assessments, which are becoming a planning requirement in coal mining areas. We are also able to offer subsequent investigation and recommendations for remedial work.
Drilling
Dunelm - Contract Management Services
Dunelm are able to supply drilling rigs and crews nationwide. But Dunelm doesn’t just supply drilling rigs – we have a team who are experienced in managing large contracts that often extend over many weeks.
Dunelm - Cable Percussion Drilling Service
Cable percussion drilling is a tried and tested method of site investigation. The drilling technique allows the installation of casing inside the borehole to prevent loose soils collapsing into the hole, allowing the borehole to be advanced to considerable depths while maintaining good progress.
Dunelm - Mini Percussive Drilling Service
The mini percussive rig (mini rig) is a compact self-contained rig which can be maneuvered under its own power into locations with difficult access. The rig is transported to site in a panel van together with all ancillary equipment, allowing rapid and inexpensive mobilisation to any location in the country.
Dunelm - Window Sampling Service
On some sites, access is too restricted even for the mini rig. In this situation Dunelm can provide a hand-held window sampling system that enables samples to be recovered using the same tubes as the mini rig.
