Dynamic V-Banks are an ultra-low pressure drop system capable of agglomerating and capturing ultrafine particles and adsorbed odors, while operating as a MERV 13 equivalent in a re-circulating system. V-Banks put our Panel Air Cleaners into two-panel (12” high) and four-panel (24” high) modules that can be permanently mounted or slide into a header. V-Banks are available in 14”, 16”, and 24” depths and with either 1” or 2” Panels.

There is no question that 254nm UVC is a powerful germicide. Given a sufficient dosage, UVC will inactivate all pathogens. However, there is a wide range in the required dose: from ~4,000 microWatt-seconds/cm2 for coronavirus to over 200,000 for anthrax. And since dosage depends on lamp intensity, contact time and proximity to the light, the question has been how to effectively apply UVC to pathogens moving at 500 to 1000 fpm through the ducts and equipment in an HVAC system. UVC lamps by themselves cannot guarantee sufficient intensity to kill organisms as they move by in the airstream. And while high-efficiency passive filters may capture pathogens, UVC cannot penetrate the dense media, allowing them to remain active.

With heightened concerns over IAQ in general, and increasing challenges to outdoor air quality like wildfires, a growing number of building owners and occupants are looking to control and remove odors, VOCs, and other gas phase contaminants from the indoor air. Effective gas phase control has typically been associated with a high pressure drop and cost of operation, making such solutions difficult to retrofit into existing buildings and requiring larger fans and accommodation for post-filters in new construction.

Tandem panels are designed for ease of installation in units with multiple filters. These connect together mechanically and electrically and allow one row of Air Cleaners to have a single electrical connection point. The frames of each panel in the row are hinged together, so that all may be removed together. Neoprene foam strips are used on the mating faces of the Air Cleaners to block the flow of air between panels.
