Intake Screens - Trash Rakes
Beaudrey - Fixed Head or Mobile Trash Rakes
The bar rack is installed across the pit. The rake is normally parked in its top position above deck. The comb is disengaged from the bar rack. When a signal is received, the rake travels downwards, directed by the wall guides. On reaching the bottom, the rake tilts from its open position to its raking position. The rake tines penetrate between the bars of the rack. The rake travels up-wards collecting and storing the debris. When the rake reaches the top, above deck, it tilts and the water brought up by the rake scoop flushes the debris away into the deck flume.
Beaudrey - Rotating Chain Trash Rakes
"R" Rakes are installed in the screening plant upstream of the travelling screens or the drum screens. The water flows across the inclined bar rack where the debris are arrested. The trash collecting rakes are held on two endless chains. They travel down, well clear of the bar screen, run around the bottom rail meshing between the bars. The debris are removed and loaded into the trash collecting rakes, they travel upwards. At deck level, the debris are swept out of the rakes into the collection trough or basket. Two or three travel speed operation is provided. Cleaning is started either by a timer, the operator or the head-loss monitoring system.
Beaudrey - Scraper Trash Rakes
CV rakes are installed at the inlet of screening plants, ahead of the travelling band screens or the drum screens.
The water flows across the vertical bar rack where the debris are arrested. When cleaning is required, the rake which is normally parked open above deck, travels down the wall guides and tilts when reaching the bottom. The rake engages the bar rack, travels up collecting all arrested debris in the process. On reaching deck level, the debris are swept off the rake by the cleaning arm, into the deck trough or trash baskets.
Beaudrey - Travelling Grab Rakes
One or more inclined bar racks are installed side-by-side (15° incline) at the plant inlet. On deck, a gantry rail supported by a set of vertical posts, follows the edge of the deck. The carrying trolley runs on the gantry rail. It is fed by a festoon cable system which also runs on the gantry rail. The rake has three cable drums: two to lower and lift the rake, one to open and dose the trash collector. When the rake is started, it travels down and along the bar racks, the rake itself having engaged the bars. Debris are removed and stored in the trash collector. When reaching the bottom, the trash collector closes, travel is reversed and the debris brought up above deck. The rake assembly then travels along the rail to the side discharge point where the collector opens and drops the debris (on deck or in a container). The rake is designed to clean each bar rack pass in turn or the specific line number, under head-loss.
