Eastech eliminates the high cost of flume installation, sensor mounting and field programming. Eastech design engineers have successfully combined three separate products; a trapezoidal flume, an ultrasonic level sensor, and a mounting bracket into a fully integrated sewer flow measurement system meeting the design standards of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.

The Vantage 2200 is a state-of-the-art microprocessor-based ultrasonic transmitter utilized for measurement of both liquid level and flow in open channels. The 2200 is equipped, as standard, with an internal data logger. More than 70 standard flow equations for flumes, weirs and open flow nozzles are stored in non-volatile memory. Dual sensors can be input to a single set of electronics for dual weir/flume or bar screen level applications. The Vantage 2200 is designed to be extremely user-friendly with an easy to read 20 character alphanumeric, self-prompting display and a menu-driven programming guide.

Each Accuron 7750 system utilizes single or multiple path acoustic transit-time technology capable of realizing highly accurate flow measurements under the most difficult metering conditions. Sensor pairs, positioned on opposite sides of the flow stream, alternately send and receive flow velocity signals across the entire fluid path. By integrating the average velocities ascertained at each measurement path, and then combining that information with data from the ultrasonic level sensor, flow rates may be precisely calculated to within ±0.5%.

Sewer Billing Meters are the cash registers of wastewater treatment plants. Just like in any business transaction, the customer (in this case the municipality) does not want to be overcharged for the service and the service provider (in this case the treatment facility) cannot undercharge and remain in business profitably. This is why it is so important to both parties that when the cash register rings, the charge for the service provided is unquestionably accurate. A 10% error in flow measurement at a 1MGD treatment facility will result in over- charges or under billings of more than $100,000 per year.

Eastech has developed a newly patented breakthrough technology (iTracking®) that delivers over 40 times the detection capability of portable-type flow meters. Patented iTracking® technology provides the means to locate and pinpoint inflow and infiltration to within a single pair of adjacent manholes after a single storm event.

The Vantage 4000 is shipped to the field factory pre-programmed to the conditions set forth by the customer. Preprogramming specifications are electronically confirmed on the display of the transmitter. If changes to the meter’s factory pre-programming is required, re-programming can simply be accomplished on the meter keypad or through the Auto- Programming feature.

Two and three path diametrical sensor configurations are recommended for applications that do not have normal upstream straight runs to produce well developed velocity profiles.

The Engineering Team at Eastech believed that in order to absolutely meet all of the requirements of AWWA/ANSI C750–03, a flowmeter had to be designed that not only adhered to every section of the Standard, but also eliminated any possibility of improper installation, inaccurate velocity measurements, and less than adequate calibration procedures.
