The EcoVault® is a Type II Stormwater Treatment System which demonstrates exceptional nutrient removal efficiency. EcoVaults® are designed and hydraulically checked for each installation; usually precast (concrete) and delivered completely assembled with the exception of very large units (which may be cast on site). As a standard, all internal components, debris screens, baffles, filters, spreaders etc. are stainless steel, PVC and concrete. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection minimum standard for Type II Baffle Boxes is a load reduction effectiveness of 19.05% Total Nitrogen (TN) and 15.5% Total Phosphorus (TP). However, a 2014 independent study demonstrated that the EcoVault® easily exceeds the FDEP minimum standards, and outperforms competitors’ Gross Pollutant Separators (CDS Hydrodynamic Separator by Contech and Nutrient Separating Baffle Box by Suntree Technologies).

Vault-Ox® technology will improve the performance of your Hydrodynamic Separator, OGS, Baffle Box or other stormwater treatment system. Between storm events, static water accumulated in underground treatment and storage structures, rapidly becomes anoxic (without oxygen). This occurs when metabolic oxidation exceeds O2 supply. This results in generation of sulfides and ammonia; reduction of Fe3+ to Fe2+ releasing phosphate in solution.

Nutrients, primarily nitrogen and phosphorus, are essential for the growth of all living organisms. Unfortunately, their excess in surface waters (lakes, streams, rivers) and ground waters has an adverse effect on both environmental and human health. Agricultural and stormwater runoff, airborne deposits, and constant urban development all contribute to high nitrogen loads. In surface waters, high nitrogen levels are responsible for algal blooms, which contribute to lower dissolved oxygen (DO) levels that negatively impact aquatic life. Algal blooms block sun rays from penetrating the water, which affects the growth of the underwater vegetation, altering the habitat and resulting in eutrophication of the entire body of water. Elevated nitrogen levels in drinking water raise serious human health concerns.

DeNitra-Vault™ combines the features and performance of both the EcoVault® and EcoVault-DN™. It is a great solution where space is limited. It couples the EcoVault’s proven separation performance with NutriGone™ media filtration in an upflow configuration.

Stormwater runoff is the largest single contributor to water pollution.  Sheet flow of rainwater or snowmelt which passes over land, streets, roofs and parking lots becomes laden with many contaminants.  Once it passes into the drainage network, whether it’s a series of pipes, culverts or a canal it’s called stormwater and will usually flow to the nearest surface water like a rivers, lakes, estuaries or the ocean, called receiving waters.

The replaceable Baffle Buddy™ Cassette Filter contains ESI MZ Filter Media, a patented modified alumino-silicate media, which is designed to absorb cations and anions such as: chromate, selenite, sulfate, hydrocarbons (e.g. benzene, toluene, xylene), heavy metals (e.g. lead and cadmium), and various petroleum products from aqueous waste stream.
